How much would you spend on a rare album? There are quite a few cds out there that i'm looking for that are rare and Sometimes they can be quite pricey, like $50 and up. Would you pay that much?

I've spent 75.00 on Eddie Hazel's first solo album. It was in mint condition, not even opened. It used to belong to the engineer. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

up to $100, depending on the rarity... " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

Depends on how much I like the artist. For example, if there were an album containing all of the unreleased songs from Stevie Wonder (especially from the '78-79 era), money would be no object. However, if it was a Raphael Saadiq bootleg album with unreleased tracks, I'd harrass some of my fellow orgers to burn it for me.

I'd spend as little as possible. I have found a few OOP albums for $6.99 to $8.99 that I've resold on eBay for up to $100. And I'm not gonna tell you which ones. I will spend a little more than usual (within limits) if it is a rare version of a song but if it is the same music with different packaging, I could care less.
In the 1980s, I had to have the original, because I have never liked cassettes, but in this modern day era of CD burners, I am happy with a good CD copy of the song. With me, it's all about having the rare version of the song to listen to from time to time rather than rare record itself for the sake of collecting. Andy is a four letter word.

You know, it's not that I'm such a crazy-ass collector or anything, but so much of the music I want is OOP.
It's so bad that sometimes the 70s albums that I want were once issued on CD, but those CDs are OOP, and I can forget about finding the vinyl. You get what you pay for I guess. Ebay is where it's at though.
