"Who" by Janet Jackson

I just heard this song for the first time. Very funky. It should have been released on the US edition of All For U. Did Jam and Lewis produce this?

You got it. I love that song. Should have been on the album...should have been a hit single. Those Japanese bonus tracks are often really good songs.

Love it! It definitely coud have been a hit single, if Virgin didn't suck.

I'm surprised this is the first you're hearing of it. Great track. I hope I still have the MP3 on my computer.

Gotta wonder how this track got cut from the final sequence. Any idea what that intro is segued from, with the windy sound effect?

Did y'all hear that percussive bit from Junior MAFIA "Players Anthem"? And the classic Rockwilder bird screech kinna sound - it warps me to 2000. Remember "Break Fool" by Rah Digga?

I think that she (or the record company) purposely cut out the track because it was so good and wanted to give the Japanese fans something really hot ("Put Your Hands On" is amazing..."I'm Here" is a stronger slower song than those on DJ not to forget "God's Stepchild"). It kind of sucks that we don't get these great tracks however we get excellent prices.

A bit that features Janet is part of SNL right now..."The Best of Jimmy Fallon". That wine bit. I love Janet...and miss her....

If that's all they can post, then their opinion is in itself, 'shit'. biggrin

BTW, i kind of like the song, but as is the case all too often with Janet theses days, the intro is far more interesting than the overblown harmonised vocals. I also tend to despise songs that feature her fake laughter. For some reason it bugs me.

Okay.

The song is uninspired.
The obligatory sample itrritating.
The obligatory Janet giggle at the beginning of the song boring.
The lyrics are forgetable.
Just another weak track of a woman we know can do better.
Maybe she needs to dive into the studio with other people than slick masters Jam and Lewis.

Although they did amazing uptempo stuff with Jordan Knight. A Different Party and Give It To You would have been amazing hits for Janet. Even though I probably like Knight's voice better on these songs....
