Spot Light Joni Mitchel "Songs To A Seagul"

Before taxi cab and paved paradise
there was joni's freshman release,
I think this by far has got to be one of joni's masterpieces,
I think the best thing about this album
is the complex lyrics
Personally as a song writer, Joni is up their in the top
Complex Syllable structures
yet it doesn't lose its poetic feel
I Had a king
and michael from the mountains beautifully written

I agree with you. This album will probably always be my favourite and I am always amazed at how overlooked it is on this site. Cactus Tree, Michael From Mountains and Dawntreader are highlights for me. She creates a poignant and beautiful tapestry of emotional longing that always brings me to tears.

Great album. But not one of my Joni Favorites. These are: Hissing of Summer Lawns, For the Roses, Ladies of the Canyon and of course Hejira.

Cactus Tree is one of her very best Songs though. I just love the guitar-intro of that song..

My older sister was named after a Joni Mitchell song, Chelsea Morning.

But my sister will never admit it lol

I have a few Joni albums but have to get some of her older stuff. I love the albums w/Jaco playing bass.
I will do today what you won't, so tomorrow I can do what you can't.

It's not just this site. It's nearly everyone. Critics, fans, etc. It's not one of her more acclaimed works. But I don't understand it either. I've heard enough of her to know that it's my favorite so far.
