I pulled this grossly underrated album out again...and love it just as much as when I first heard it. Just wanted to share it with you again. So I copied and pasted what I originally wrote. Pop fan or not.. "Coverage" is a brilliant album! Special Edition with bonus dvd. Covering classics like Blondie's "One Way Or Another", Elton John's "Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters", and John Hiatt's "Have A Little Faith In Me"; Mandy Moore continues to seperate herself from other 'teen pop queens'. Choosing to pay homage to Singers/Songwriters of the 70's Mandy has released a brilliant new cd entitled "Coverage". The songs though some slightly updated in sound; are almost entirely keep true to the original arrangements. There's nothing contrived or calculated about this project. Just good music for anyone of any age. One review called this "the best cover album since David Bowie's "Pin Up". The beauty is its simplicity. Forget everything you've heard from her in the past..this album may surprise you. I think this is a beautiful album and would highly recommend it to anyone. A couple tracks that stand out are Joan Armatrading's "Drop the Pilot", Todd Rundgren's "Can We Still Be Friends", and The Waterboys' "The Whole of the Moon". Also the $7.99 price tag at Target didn't hurt either. I also picked up the special edition with dvd. And I'm very glad I did. Artists covered on this album are: Spacehogs, Waterboys, Todd Rundgren, Carole King, Elton John, Joan Armatrading,Cat Stevens, Blondie, Joe Jackson, Carly Simon, Joni Mitchell, and John Hiatt Track Listing: 1. Senses Working Overtime 2. The Whole of the Moon 3. Can We still be Friends 4. I Feel the Earth Move 5. Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters 6. Drop the Pilot 7. Moonshadow 8. One Way Or Another 9. Breaking us in Two 10. Anticipation 11. Help Me 12. Have A Little Faith In Me Enjoy!!! | |
