new album (compilation) by the verve...

is out o nov 1 with all their singles, b-sides and a couple of unreleased songs.

Tracklisting:

1. This Is Music
2. Slide Away
3. Lucky Man
4. History
5. She’s A Superstar
6. On Your Own
7. Blue
8. Sonnet
9. All In The Mind
10. The Drugs Don’t Work
11. Gravity Grave
12. Bittersweet Symphony
13. This Could Be My Moment (Previously Unreleased)
14. Monte Carlo (Previously Unreleased)

considering they only have 3 albums is a compilation really warranted?

i own some of their b-sides as well, not all, and am facing a dilemma over whether or not to buy it...

but i suppose I'll end up buying it for the new songs anyway like I always do.

the verve were great but this ain't really fair

strange but apparantly so

i'm not sure they're very well known in America but they were absolutely massive in Britain and Ireland

i'm sure everyone here though has at least heard The Drugs Don't Work (no.1 the week after Princess Diana died) and Bittersweet Symphony - American radio can't have failed to pick them up

Bittersweet Symphony was HUGE over here. That was about it however. Alternative radio played more but they only had the one cross over hit. That led to Urban Hymns selling pretty well in the US...

Actually it is. Buy it and you won't need to buy anything else by them. It has all their best songs on it and no crap ones. Shame they never made any money out of "Bittersweet Symphony" though.

I am a Verve fan…I thought they already had a B-sides disc out though. Oh, this is B-sides & Hits, I see. Well I probably won't buy it because I already have their other stuff.

Love that album, History is my all time favourite Verve song

shortly followed by On Your Own.

Hopefully they'll re-unite one day and make another great album.

I've been saying that about The Stone Roses for even longer though.
