GGD(Just take a look at my screen name)

that is too cool, i hadn't even noticed your screen name! how coem poison gets no love in the rock community. i thought they had good catchy songs. i still listen to open up and say ahh somtimes. it rocks. bret michaels is the original tupac! he always wore bandanas and he almost raps instead of sings.

Not just Poison...most people won't admit to even liking
the "Hair Rock Bands" of the 'mid-late '80s. Give it
another 5-10 years! Poison had a certain 'tude about
them that I just loved everthing about their stage shows,
videos, and songs!

There's a pic of "the Black Ratt" buried somewhere in the "Associated artist & people" thread. Maybe there's on in the "gallery" too?

Still no luck.
I may just have to check and see if I still have the LP.
Hopefully there will be a picture on the back cover that I can scan.

OOH shit. Um, yeah, I dug them a lot. Go over to the "ass. artists" forum. Go to the thread "da'Krash" which was another very cool black funk/rock band. Anyway, read the posts untill u hit the one by sextonseven. He gives a link to the thread 'Mazarati vs. da'Krash". Anyway, BrownMark, Prince's bass player, produced and wrote their album.

I like 80s hair metal too:

White Lion
Ratt
Def Leppard
Motley Crue
Warrant
Telsa
Bon Jovi
Ratt (okay, just that one song "Round and Round")

Poison was way too cheesy for me, but I think I still have the tape of the '91 MTV Awards (hosted by Arsenio Hall), where an obviously high CeeCee DeVille ruined their performance with his erratic guitar playing. Priceless... It's hard to believe less than a month later Nirvana would release Nevermind and kick them off the charts.

I also like harder stuff:
Metallica (before the "Black Album")
AC/DC
Guns N' Roses

Alterna-Metal/Grunge(?)
Alice In Chains ("Dirt" is my fav album)
Soundgarden
Nirvana
Pearl Jam (1990-1995)

As a teenage black girl in the late 80s/early 90s, used to watch "Headbanger Ball" on MTV. On Friday nights, MTV would also air "Rock Blocks", 3 or 4 videos in a row of the same artist, so usually I'd get a Bon Jovi or Def Leppard fix on that show...Ahh, sweet memories.

You guys should check out http://www.metalsludge.tv.../index.php:
It's a comprehensive metal fan site. Okay, mainly I like the site for the infamous Penis Chart, but still you get to see what happens to 80s metal guys when they age (many not very well apparently).
