Dave Matthews Band

Someone help me out here I just don't get it. I've tried listening to some of his song and I don't understand a damn word he saying. Maybe it's just me, but I don't get his appeal.

Dave appeals to a certain audience, those who chug LARGE amounts of natty light on a Th, Fr, Sat night, who attend various academic institutions and PAY a high price for friends from the get-go (frat/sor), dose who invest long mornin' and afta-noon hours doin' notin' but marijuana mahn, those who think believe ecastay is a part of dating, those who drive around in 4bangers and crouch-rockets around town, those who are not musically inclined or knowledgeable, those who cannot decide for themselves... need I go on?

Yeah, I disagree...

A lot of musically inclined people dig the DMB. I know I do. Carter Beauford is one of the strongest drummers in pop music today. Dave writes really introspective lyrics and has a unique delivery. I could do without the fiddler dude (his pitch problems in the early days were really annoying to me). The sax player is AWESOME and solidifies, on the more daring songs, a real cool jazz reference. And, Tim Reynolds (the unofficial lead guitarist) is AMAZING.

Sure, some of their songs seem a bit mushy or contrived, but I believe they're in the minority. Through and through, DMB have a knack for writing really strong songs about love and loss that I've enjoyed for a good long while.
