i almost bought it for 15 bucks at the beast buy just to have the videos, but i'm not such a huge MM fan, so i figured one day i'd just find a friend who has a copy and i'd watch theirs. i'm always dissapointed when i get his albums, they're never as good as i hope they'll be.

Isn't this the greatest hits CD? You've already heard all of the songs on it, right?

I'm waiting for the limited release with the (s)AINT video.

I saw him on Last Call with Carson Daly and he mentioned he plans on just releasing the video on the website, because it's too controversial.

Just thought you might want to know.

biggrin

(I'll probably get the set for the DVD sooner or later.)

I have to disagree with you anxiety!
As a casual fan...I guess I can't relate to how you feel about Manson's Music!
Being that you think or feel he should release a brilliant album every time...

Has it ever occured to you that he may think his records are brilliant or very good!?
He could possibly feel that way about each release, just as PRINCE, every one has this idea that he should record a rock album or go back to his old way of writing and producing music, but I believe artist(s) like prince and manson, feels that the music is just as good as it was before.

I being a casual fan, can say...that I'm not really familiar with his earliest work, but I can definitely dig his style within the past 5 years!

I LOVE MANSON now and thou not as much as I LOVE PRINCE!
I still think his music is great and his stage performance is even greater!
MANSON will definitely get a sale from me this week!!!

manson rules!

I believe he thinks "I can't believe I'm getting away with this," which is what I think most bands think.

That having been said, I may still pick it up for "Beautiful People" and the videos. I love this trend of including all the videos!!! If only RHCP had included "Warped" in theirs... guitar

I kind of regret it now. The album is really good and I'm glad I got it. What's the tracklisting for the DVD anyway? I remember thinking that I wanted it but it sucked that it didn't include everything.

In other words, all the videos, unedited. They should have put "I Don't Like the Drugs" and "Coma White" on the audio disc to balance it out. It's all the "mObscene"-type songs and could use a breather or two.

I read that the U.S. DVD in stores doesn't have the (s)AINT video on it. To get that video you have to purcahse the DVD through Manson's website.

They don't. And the DVD doesn't have the Personal Jesus video either, so it's really not the complete collection. But they are all unedited, and the DVD production is the slickest I've ever seen on a bonus disc.

There's a video out for "Personal Jesus"? The cover is very faithful to the original. Manson definatly likes his new wave. Even though the DVD collection could be more full and have the "(S)aint" video (as well as the album having the song...I heard some of it and it's probably better than that other "Golden Age" songs on the CD. I really dig the disc and now might start buying his album for more. Suggestions?

It's too bad the Tainted Love video isn't included either. I love how the tired hip-hop video formula get turned upside down in that one.

I saw the "Personal Jesus" video on TV ... it's just a new-wave Manson video. Nothing special. That "mObscene" video is something, though.

Okay, got the collection this weekend. I haven't had a chance to check out the videos yet (can't really watch them with the kids around), but I'm looking forward to it!

As for the collection itself, its a mixed-bag. Too many songs from Holy wood, not enough songs from Antichrist Superstar. Also, I would've preferred "sAINT" to "This Is The New Shit" (just don't care for that track). Mainly, it bugs me that "I Don't Like The Drugs (But The Drugs Like Me)" isn't featured!!! Still, I'm happy as a pig in shit that "Long Hard Road Out Of Hell" and "Tainted Love" are both included. I never got the single or the sountrack that featured TL, and I'm happy to get rid of that shitty-ass Spawn sountrack (of which, only LHROOH was any good).

Now, that skinny mutha-fucka with the gravelly voice needs to do a b-sides/rarites compilation!!!

No way! "Please take away my PA" was the only thing Jonathan Davis said that I ever agreed with, and "Trip Like I Do" by the Crystal Method/Filter is the best remix ever known to the '90s. guitar

So here's the deal. Manson's site used to carry a special 3 disk set. It had the hits CD, the DVD with all the videos, and an extra DVD with the (s)aint video on it. But it seems they sold out and don't know if they will get more. I think this is fucking stupid, especially with so many fans trying to get it.

However, I've been reading that some people are buying the Japanese version which includes the CD with a few extra tracks, a B-sides/remix CD, and a DVD with all the videos including Personal Jesus and (s)aint. It seems some people are ordering it for about $42 from Amazon Japan. So maybe the DVD can be played here. I'm waiting to hear back from Japan.
