I have stressed many times that she deserves immense credit for staying at the top, re-inventing herself and (for the most part) making great pop music. I have also stressed that she's not a great singer (care to argue?) and that she lacks a lot of natural talent. But she makes up for it with star power. I don't see how that's really bashing her.

If you wanna keep it real, Donna Summer was doing "Dance Pop" with "I Feel Love" five years before Madonna purportedly "re-invented" all of dance music with "Everybody." Donna's "I Feel Love" shook the dance music scene harder than Madonna's "Everybody" -- and I'm not even slighting the latter because I'm a fan of it. The effects of that Giorgio Moroder-produced tune can still be felt in a majority of dance pop tracks to this day (even Madonna's work).

When has anyone said that Miss Madonna was a musical genius? Case closed, stop making up shit people. If anyone said so they were either drugged or drunk as friggin hell.

Madonna as david said is remembered for her reinvention of musical and personal style.

I found Madonna interesting for the first few years, but she lost me around the time of Truth or Dare. She started acting like a complete slut and didn't seem to have an ounce of morality left in her, so that turned me right off. She's not a good singer and she's very phony. I can't stand her acting, her fake accents, her interest in new cultures and religions every few years, writing childrens books (please). She's a fake and her time has come and gone. Luckily for her, she will always have her loyal fans, just like MJ will, but IMHO she has nothing lef to offer us and she's as stale as month old bread!

My opinion of Madonna has nothing to do with how long I've been a Prince fan (21 years). It has to do with losing interest in her as an entertainer. I realized after watching Truth or Dare, that she had nothing to offer me and I was no longer interested in her shenanigans. I realize that she has a huge following and many fans around the world, but I haven't been one of them for many years. I believe she is severely over-rated and other than being a savy business woman, I don't think she deserves the accolades she receives. Again, this is only my opinion. I prefer people with real talent!
