Heard that Gil Scott Heron is in REALLY bad shape. Living rough, virtually a crack head .....any confirmation??

One of our greatest artists. The forefather of many MC's, including Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Chuck D and KRS-ONE. I'd start with this compilation if I were you.

Wasn't he scarily prophetic? We need him more than ever today. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

Wasn't he scarily prophetic? We need him more than ever today. Indeed, he was. Politics is really nothing more than a B-movie. We really do need him now. He spoke the truth. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

This livealbum(apart from the titletrack) from 1976 was the first album of his I bought & still 2day I regard it as my favourite. A really great album!!! I remember not long after I bought this I was gonna go see him in concert in Stockholm. When I got 2 the venue I was told that the band was there but they had lost Gil along the way & aperently he was still in Denmark so the show was cancled & the band had 2 go back. /peace Manki

GSH listening is some cool shit. It's good for the head and the soul. Man,I remember hearing Disosable Heroes of Hiphopricy and thinking that the vocalist(Franti) must be Gil's son! "I'm a pig..so,magic elixir I swill"
