Why? promotion is most of the time the key to succes... If anyone is promoting alot these days it is Duran Duran.. The song gets alot of airplay, I even hear 10 year old girls singing the song!

Because you can have an AC #1 hit without charting on the Hot 100 these days. It's going to be big with the retro crowd, but with R&B/hip-hop-dominated radio, don't expect it to get to #1 (top 40, maybe).

Excatly. You can also have the biggest dance hit of the year and it's highly likely that it wouldn't have charted on the Hot 100. In fact, dance songs that only do so so on the dance charts are often considered the most dancable hits on Billboard. I haven't even heard this song and with the way radio works, probably never will.

Well, it doesn't matter anyhow if they score a hit or not...they get the attention again, and that is important!
