where has Bubblegum music gone?

There used to be such a high amount of it!

Got started up again proper when New edtion broke with songs like "candy girl" and "cool it now", then came "that" boyband "new kids on the block" followed by acts like:-

Debbie gibson
Tiffany
Janet Jackson
richard marx (bubblegum rock i suppose)
Mc Hammer (bubblegum rap on 2nd album!)
Tommy Page
Paula abdul
Milli vanilli
Color me badd

Joey Lawrence
Jeremy jordan (these last 2 were tv stars who came right at the end of this cheese!)

Where has the cheese gone?

Britney,Nysync and Backstreet were cheese, but they gone now too!

For a year or so now people have been trying to hard to make respectable pop when pop should be cheesy! Should be uplifting, innocent and fun to dance to

I miss Bubblegum, though i understand a severe backlash was needed in US after the years of 1988-1993 were full of cheese! But even by 1997 that got boring!

when will their be a new generation of pop? Iam now growing real tired of this rap/rnb/rock overflow? Bring me some pop!!!
