lol

Shit, lets keep it real for a change here. The only reason why MOST Maddy's gay fans dig her so much is becoz of her fashion sense(she's a fashion chameleon) and the fact that they always see a BROADWAY NOVELTY ACT SHOW when they go to her concerts instead of seeing a real live pre4mance, not to mention her "stunts" which she's famous for(and the joke is she's conisdered bald & ambitous for pulling them disbelief). Other than that shit, they declare "BORING" lol

You know damn well as I do that if Maddy doesn't have ALL of that layered FLUFF on top of her skinny sick lookin' ass, those mofos wouldn't be around raving about her wack shit.

Was that brick meant for me? Because I don't think you understood my POV.

Please. many thought Madonna was black when she first came out. I'm not saying she's the most soulful thing out there, but she was getting a lot of radio play and no one knew who she was. Certainly you know SOMEONE who thought she was black when they first heard "Holiday"?

I never thought that heffer was black nor do I know anyone I know ever thought she was black!!! PLEASE...what are you talking about....It's not like we are talking about Teena Marie here...

There is NOTHING about that woman that we thought at least in the area I grew up in that she could be black. There is not one ounce of soul in that woman's voice. Nothing. That's what you guys thought not Brutha's and Sista's....Holiday was played on Black radio though I do remember that....

I think Elton is going through menopause in all honesty.

On top of that he cant stand Madonna being the Queen of pop, he wanted to be the queen of pop, so it's all in jealousy.

Seriously dude, it's not about the black or gay or whatever community. It was the common concensus during her first album that most people assumed she was black. No lie. It wasn't until people saw her video for "Burning Up" and especially "Lucky Star" that they had any clue who she was, even though she was getting a fair amount of airplay. Which brings me to one of my major gripes. Back then, people assumed unfairly that she had to be black cuz "her voice was too soulful and her tracks were too funky" to be a white chick. All these years later, it seems to be the thing to say if you want to look like you know something about music to diss her vocals. It's all bandwagon. If you personally don't like her voice, that's cool. You don't have to. But how so many people insist it's the Bible truth that she can't sing for shit is beyond me. shrug

I just wish she would focus more on writing a decent tune rather than pissing about with producers who dress up her work with clicks, whirrs, beeps and other distracting gimmicks. wink

i understand what you mean but why is it a gimmick when madonna does it but not a gimmick when tricky, bjork, u2, radiohead or whoever does it?

It's more of a personal want, really. I think Maddy is at her best when performing straight forward pop songs. Tricky and U2 I respect as artists but I'm not much into them so I don't give a damn what they do. Radiohead... well. lol Sometimes the clicks, whirrs and beeps are the songs, but I honestly think they do it in a way that manages to enhance their work rather than detract from it. Bjork? Yeah, I got "issues" with her songwriting, too. confused

I think the problem is that Madonna's vocals have gone down in subsequent years. She's not singing the way she did on her first album or early tracks like "Who's That Girl".

nod True. Of course, most of her fast tempo stuff is what put her on the mark. The ballad that I ever liked by her was Live To Tell.

Al the concerts i have seen her in, whether taped or not.. she never sounds like she is lip synching.... her voice does sound like she strains it a bit... but whatever i guess...

She has a point, she dont usually trash people and was uncalled for by Elton. But then again, thats showbiz!
