I love this CD...her remakes of "Lay Lady Lay" and "If Loving You Is Wrong" are AWESOME!! Does anyone else have this CD??

This is why I'm weird - I have 4 or 5 Cassandra Wilson albums... BUT I hardly ever listen to them. I have to be in a certain mood to hear her. Anyway, I've listened to this one a few times, it hasn't really grabbed me yet but it's nice. My fave songs by her are Blue Light 'Till Dawn, Come On In My Kitchen & Strange Fruit.

I looooovvve Cassandra. Her phrasing is destinctive, she's versatile and most importantly she grap somebody's attention without OUT-DOING herself, kinda like what Lady Day used to do.

Now, I RESENT all these Sarah Vaughan/Betty Carter-clone bitches but this woman has a solid sense of individuality.
