Amii Stewart I've bought well over a dozen CDs this week (which includes CDs that I got in the mail and figuring that many of them were double disc sets, which counts as two) and the one that I've really gotten into more than any of the new ones is a used CD from Amii Stewart. It's a budget collection (possibly an import since it seems to be priced high online) of her hits and its mostly disco and quite a few offbeat covers. "Knock On Wood" was her only big hit and it's amazing. There is also a disco cover of "Light My Fire" which cracked the charts. The album is really interesting and her vocals are amazing. I hear that her career is doing really well in Italy. Anyone else have any of her stuff. Any thoughts?

I haven't heard any other buzz about her since the late 70's. I could imagine that she is still doing her thing in Italy since she is big.

I think her last album, according to Amazon, was a collection of old, possibly tradational songs (I highly doubt she is still doing disco covers) and it's a really highly priced, so it probably only sold in a few markets.

The only thing I have heard from Amii Stewart is "Knock on Wood" and I love it. Andy is a four letter word.

I've been listening to this CD since I've got it. She does a cover of that old song "The Letter". Fucking awesome. I'd hate to tell all fans of "Knock On Wood" to buy this CD becuase you might not like it but maybe download a few things. I'm not huge on disco (I do love Donna Summer and lots of dance music artists though) but this stuff is great so if you're a disco fan, it might be worth checking out.
