YOUNGER ARTISTS PRINCE SHOULD THANK,FOR SPREADING HIS NAME AROUND!

i believe without these younger artists citing his influence, covering his song,or whatever, prince's name wont get around this far.
i think PRINCE SHOULD THANK:(in rank)
1.D'ANGELO
2.ANDRE 3000
3.?UESTLOVE (AHMIR THOMPSON)
4.MAXWELL
5.ALICIA KEYS
i might update later..but that's what pop in my mind at the moment..

You got that ALL KINDS of wrong...no no no!

There's a reason that they're thanking him.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

i believe prince also has 2 thank them(the younger artists i mentioned).they're connecting the gap between prince with the kids who grew up in the 90's who wasnt exposed to prince's hey day in the 90's.face it...there lotsa kids who think prince was merely a skinny muthafucka with a high voice until d'angelo came up and raving about prince's huge influence on his music.and then kids from the 90's start 2 recognize his genius.prince should b thankful 4 it.

I wouldn't expect any music legend to thank a younger generation to acknowledge them. Just think of anyone from Motown. Even I don't "expect" Stevie Wonder to cover his hits with younger artists, even though it is very generous and God bless him for it.

prince once said that he plays cover of joni mitchel's song on his live performance to help spreading her name around.so i guess the consept of older artists should thank younger artist for spreading their name around is not something strange.

Andre 3000 act like he doesn’t want 2 be associated with P’s music, because people r always saying that his style is a lot like P’s which it is IMHO. P doesn’t need any of them to spread his name. He diffidently don’t need 2 thank any of the people u mentioned they need 2 thank him. Further more P’s name will always be brought up when u speak of music and the great ones. neutral

Prince owes them no thanks whatsoever. If he's influenced them, that's fine, but he owes them no thanks. As far as bridging the gap between the youth....if they like him, that's fine....if they don't, who cares.

Yea, so THEY (the younger artists) should keep saying his name & givin' it up to one of their influences...
