Larry Graham on Betty Davis 1st lp For those of you who don't know her first album had a (fresh outta Sly and the Family Stone) Larry G on bass and a (fresh outta Santana) Neal Schon on Lead guitar. Needless to say it was a heavy funk affair. Release Yourself

Larry on bass and a guy from Santana on guitar? i can't even begin to imagine how extremely cheesy and watered down that sort of funk would be. "I don't need your forgiveness, cos I've been saved by Jesus, so fuck you."

Why would it be cheesy? Hate on him now, but Mr. Graham was funky back in the day. Ever hear of Graham Central Station? Prince sure has As far as Neal Schon, this was pre-Steve Perry Journey, when he was more adventurous with the music. Say what you want about Journey and what it ultimately became - he is a kick-ass guitarist. It seems to be the popular thing nowadays to diss Larry Graham but we shouldn't forget that he did lay down some serious funk in his heyday. My author page: https://www.amazon.com/au...eretttruth

Hey guys don't be so harsh, we were all babes at one point. I too had my judgemental ears blown off by pure funk once a long time ago.

I won't even entertain those ignant comments made by someone who obviously doesn't know much about good music, or even heard the lp of which we speak. By the way the drummer was one of the funkiest ever, Greg Errico, also from Sly and the Family Stone. It's been said that Jimi wanted those Larry and Greg in his Band Of Gypsys, but they were too afraid of moonlighting while with Sly. Can you even imagine how sick that would have been!!!
