Adam Ant

i'm a really big fan of Adam Ant's but i feel its a shame he never took off here in the U.S..he did have 3 hits here Goody Two Shoes,Strip & Room At Top (produced by Andre Cymone) but he had many more in England...a few years back i bought an Adam Ant video collection called "Antics in the Forbidden Zone" which was really good.....i always thought that Prince fans may also like Adam's music because it was different and ahead of its time..anybody else here dig Adam Ant?

Man, I used to love Adam & The Ants growing up and still pull out the odd album occasionally.

Kings of the Wild Frontier was always the one for me. The title track is excellent and this album is well worth a listen!

I don't give props to many people, but I met Adam Ant on one of his small promo tours in the US. He was a VERY COOL PERSON. Took the time to chat with me and a friend for about 30min. at an afterparty. After my friend and I left the party and were walking through town. Adam's tour bus drove by us on his way out of town. He was up in front, so he saw us again and recognized. He gave us a big wave goodbye. A good man.

also, I always thought Adam had the "Edwardian" look a few years earlier than Prince...

Yeah. Adam & the Antz were great. I was feeling sentimental a couple of years back and bought 'Antbox'. 66 tracks that brought back a lot of memories. Great times.

I mentioned on the glam thread last week that P bit off of Adam. Not only Adam's look, but Adam's videos as well. "Goody Two Shoes" video was a blueprint for the "Automatic" video.
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

nod Agreed. You hit it right on the nail. He did in fact have the Edwardian look going before P. I used to think that he was real sexy back in the day and loved his videos. My favorite songs by his were Desperate But Not Serious and Goody 2 Shoes.
