So whatever happened to her? I liked a lot of This Fire (especially Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?), even though I Don't Want To Wait became incredibly annoying after its inclusion on Dawson's Creek. Amen wasn't a bad followup, either. Then...zip!

seems like she's been up to some stuff. i'm not surprised that she's been hidden as far as mainstream music goes. mtv probably considers her to be too old. rolleyes

Yes, it's been an unbelievably rocky road releasing my fourth album with WBs. Everything is different now. I used to make an album, submit it; they'd release it. THis time, I submitted my album and they just looked at me cross-eyed. No communication. For a year! I think they have lost enthusiasm for music. I don't hear music when I walk in WBs. I don't hear conversations about music. I hear conversations about golf. Enthusiasm is the plasma that carries all of the artists to fruition. It is missing in this time of anxiety and fear and corporate restructuring. I think if they simply got passionate about music again and focused that energy by nurturing artists (the very source of all of the income of the music industry!!!) then we'd see miraculous changes.

Anyway, I'm leaving Warner Brothers and leaving it up to God - Universe - whatever you want to call it! I'm praying I find another home soon and release these songs. They deserve to be heard! And I want to sing again! I want my wings back!

And yes, there is more pressure on me now that I have my daughter to make a living. I did consider leaving the music business. I even started examining the UCLA curriculum. But I knew I'd be deceiving myself at this point in time. I just have to pull myself up by my own bootstraps. And get back to music; my passion, my gift; my destiny.

I was pleasantly surprised this week when I saw she is a guest vocalist on 2 songs on the new album by jazz artist Chris Botti. The album is middle of the road smooth jazz, all covers....but it's refreshing to hear Paula's great voice on 'What I'll do' and 'How Love Should Be'

I cannot wait until she's able to release her record.

Fuck you WBs!!!
Every minute of last night is on my face today....
