Grace Jones

How many of you like Grace Jones?

In my opnion she is one of the most under rated black female artists everI unfortunately, I think people were put off by her strong, "weird" image but she rocks!

My favorite tracks by her are....

1) Nipple to the bottle
2) Pull up to my bumper
3) Night clubbing

I could never get into Grace Jones. Although it was funny watching her beat up Wilt in that Conan movie.

I'm not perfect (but I'm perfect for You) nod

WHen in the heck will a greatest hits come out???

I recall she has a gay twin brother. And at one point asked what he looks like ans she pulled off her wig and was bald and said..."Like this". Can't remember if I saw this or was told this.

she rocks...though I don't know much of her stuff.

Slave to the Rhythm and La Vie En Rose are my favorites.

Saw her many years ago and she was over about 90 minutes late getting to the stage and still had the audience in her palm.

Her "Slave to the Rhythm" album is cool. Every song is a different version of the title cut. I really like "Fashion Show". I saw the video the other day. Back then it seemed weird/artsy. I now think it's probably one of my all time favorite videos.

(Remember the video with a bunch of Grace clones? Can't remember the song.)

Oh, and I'll NEVER forget her Soul Train performance. She sang "Do or Die". She was wearing some kind of cloak...she took it off and underneath she was wearing a catsuit with a horse's tail.

You go Grace!

I beleive you're talking about the video for "Demolition Man". It had an army of marching Grace's.

I've always loved Grace for hermusic and originality.

I remember her on once again either Don Kirschner’s Rock Concert or the Midnight Special in like 1979 with I think a gold body suit with a hood. That same episode the Jacksons sang Destiny and Shake Your Body Down. It was a hell of a show.

I should start buying some of her work, cause I agree with you, she is shamelessy underrated. Smoe of my faves from her are Slave to the rhythm, Demolition man, My jamacian guy, Pull up to the Bumper and I'm not perfect ( but I'm perfect for you ). She may have an outrageous persona, but its well suited for her, why else would we still talk about her, she's someone to remember.

I couldn't agree with you more. I used to love all of her video. I really admired the fact that she could go from a successful modeling career to music. My favorite cuts by her were My Jamacian Guy, Love Is A Drug, Demolition Man, Slave To The Rhythm, Pull Up To The Bumper, and Nipple To The Bottle.

music "Pull up to the bumper baby with your long black limosine."

grace jones is like the original marilyn manson in terms of being outrageous and having stage shows. the woman rocks! i want to see someone from today try and do what she did. they would be way to concerned with records sales. artists today just don't have what the artists of yesterday had, Balls!
