I've found that everyone's sayin'
What to do when suckers are preyin'
On my well-guarded spreadsheets
Oh why hell does it send up fleets
of evil-doers through the big hole
To get to evil-doers who dig holes
Which leaves my lawn with lawn-chew
I think I'd better plant traces to give clues

Love the album MinnieG, but this one IMO is their absolute best:

De La tries fights to save hip-hop from itself with this album. It was 1996, and unfortunately, the message was lost.

Yeah, right around '96 is when I stopped listening to hip-hop mostly. sigh I'll have to go back and give that one a listen again though. thumbs up!

I loved that one and Stakes is High, but even now I still think De La Soul is Dead is their finest moment.

Trust me, MinnieG, the title track alone is worth the album. It is almost prophetic in its protest against the dawn of the bling era. Other standouts: "dinninit," "the bizness" (a true banger featuring Common Sense), "big brother beat" (featuring the mighty Mos Def in one of his first appearances), "4 more" (featuring Zhane) and "sunshine." It is easily one of the best hip-hop albums of the last 10 years.

I must ride with brotha psyko here, De La went to work with that one, but I'm not discrediting anything they done since. I didn't like BuhlooneMindState, but Stakes and ArtOfficial were some of their best work as well. So let me end it with a visual, can U dig it?
