Pixies - The Other Great Summer Tour

Finally, I saw this tour last night (Saturday 9/25) at the Greek Theater at U.C. Berkeley, the second night of a three day stand.

The Greek is an amazing ampitheater. I have only lived in NorCal for a few years and this was my first visit to the Greek. I have seen plenty of concert footage taken at the place, so I was familiar with the layout, but I wasn't prepared for the sound. Incredible.

The band was super tight and grooving hard. Wave of Mutilation was sublime. Songs of note: Debaser, Where's my mind?, Bone Machine, Hey, Gouge Away. The show rocked. I am happy to finally see this wonderful band.

Yeah I caught them on the first date of this tour in Bend, Oregon.

Supremely awesome, even if Kim fucked up the start of Gouge Away.

Rockin.

They're another one that I missed out on tickets for. But I absolutely must see them. I'll get there somehow, but the auctions on Ebay are going for a fortune!

Right here, endo!

The tour is shaping up phenominally! I can't wait to catch it again when it swings back to Mpls. I'm a lucky girl, seeing their opening night of the tour at the Fine Line. It was a dream come true kinda night. After the first show in Novemebr was announced here I got tix for that one and they announced another show the night before that show and a friend of mine may have a ticket for me for that one as well. I can't wait!!

was Frank Black & the band talking to the audience? They weren't in Amsterdam some months ago, a great (loud) show though!

There was little crowd interaction from the band at the show I saw. A couple of silly smart-assy comments but that was about it.
