Can albums remastered at last! Next month, Mute Records are going to reissue the 1st 4 Can albums (Monster Movie, Soundtracks, Tago Mago and Ege Bamyasi) in a remastered form with new photos and interviews and all kinda goodies.
How damned cool is that? On a similar note, has anybody heard the DJ set that Four Tet did for the Breezeblock radio show where he mixed Prince into Can (or was it vice-versa)? Amazing! Big thanks to JazzVibrator for sorting me out with it. "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"

nice - i only have a can best-of CD because all their albums look really kinda shoddily mastered and they're always very pricey. now i have an incentive to check out some of their older stuff!

These are definitely the best albums (they went off the boil after about 8 albums) and the existing CD's are proper shite sound quality. Although if you have a record player, the reissued vinyl sounds absolutely stunning. Have you bought the DVD? It's out of this world! Hooray to that! October 4th is the release date in the UK, I think. Shame they didn't include "Future Days" too - their most accessible and arguably their best album. You are gonna have to buy "Soundtracks" and "Tago Mago" when they come out in their remastered glory! "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"

WHOOP!
Just got all 4 today, finished versions, advance release for journos. They're SACD but will play in a CD player too. I've got "Monster Movie" playing right now in my DVD player in surround sound (currently on "Mary, Mary So Contrary") - sounds fucking awesome. Loads of extra photos and sleeve notes for each album and it also says that all the Can albums are going to get the same treatment (although the band always miss the album "Out Of Reach" out of their official discographys because it apparently sucked ass big time, so that probably won't get the treatment). "Tago Mago" comes with additional notes from Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie. "You know, you're the classic example of the inverse ratio between the size of the mouth and the size of the brain"
