Other artist's songs that you can't stand!

Since we already have several threads devoted to Prince songs that you dislike, why don't we list songs by other artists/bands that we hate? What are the songs that you absolutely HATE to hear? What songs make you wanna turn off the radio when you hear them? Here's my list...

***"This Is How We Do It" by Montell Jordan(1995)---Sounds like an MC Hammer reject song! Montell is actually a decent singer, but this song just plain sucks...."South Central does it like nobody does....I'll never come back on an Old School track"????...aaaarrrgggghhhh!!!!

***"If You Asked Me To" by Patti LaBelle(1988)---Let me just say that Patti LaBelle is one of my favorites. Her strong, powerful vocals can put almost any other "diva" to shame. But,this lame,soul-less power-pop ballad just doesn't suit her.Let Celine Dion do these songs,Patti deserves better!!

***"Too Legit To Quit" by MC Hammer(1992)---Hammer's career came to an abrupt end after this horrible song, and it's easy to see why.As if his pedestrian rhymes weren't enough,we have to put up with his annoying background vocalist, who screams "HEY,HEY!!" on the chorus.

***"Float On" by The Floaters(1978)---I don't know why this song is considered a soul classic. It's incredibly silly. It's not even much of a song....just a lame ass hook, with stupid "smooth talkin" by a group of nobodies.I mean, who really CARES what sign you are?? Jeeezzzz!!!

***""Mo Money,Mo Problems" by Notorious B.I.G.,Puffy(1997)---Why is Puffy considered some great hip-hop producer? For this track,he sloppily sampled Diana Ross' 1980 hit "I'm Coming Out",and had Kelly Price sing all over it.It all sounds messy and un-focused.If you're gonna sample,at least be creative with it!!

***"Werewolves of London" by Warren Zevon(1978)---Hey,I LOVE the 70s' and its' msuic, but even I can't defend a stupid song like this...lol...

***"He's Mine" by Mokenstuf(1995)---Why did Prince allow his "Do Me Baby" sample to be used on a crappy song like this?? Y'all remember this one, with it's oh-so-annoying chorus...."He's Mine, you may have had him once, but I got him all the time".The lead singer doesn't seem the least bit concerned that her man cheated on her.Whatever!

***"Don't Call Me Baby" by Madison Ave.(1998?)---Ok,I'll just call you "Idiot".There,is that better??

***"Convoy" by C.W. McCall(1975)---If I'm not mistaken,on the 70s thread,Wellbeyond listed this song as one of his favorites....lol...hey,to each his own, right? wink

***"In The Navy" by The Village People(1979)---I love 70s' Disco, and I even liked some other Village People songs. But "In The Navy" is simply dumb.Songs like this gave the rock-loving,"Disco Suck!" crowd alot of ammunition...lol...

***"Say My Name" by Destiny's Child(1999)---All of their songs are so repetitive. This song makes me want to look Beyonce in the face, and yell "BEYONCE! BEYONCE! BEYONCE!" a million times, just so she can "shut up already, damn!!"smile

***"Dance(Disco Heat)" by Sylvester(1978)---His other big hit was "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" and that's a great song. But this song is a piece of Disco trash! It sounds half-written,with the lines "Dance with me in the Disco heat" just being repeated over and over and over.Even worse,Sylvester is just a back-up vocalist on his own song(the Weather Girls take center stage here).

***"Hero" by Enrique Iglesias(2001)---A lifeless ballad that puts me to sleep.

***Freak Like Me" by Adina Howard(1994)---What happened to her anyway?

***How Do You Do? by Mouth and MacNeal(1972)---In 1972,this song reached Number 8 on the US charts.I bet all those people who bought it would never admit to doing so...lol...

Brother915

Good Morning Everybody.....

DAVIDEYE on Montell Jordan's song he's saying "I'll never come WACK on an OLD SCHOOL TRACK. This was the theme song for the 1995 Freaknik festival here in Atlanta in 1995. I was in college then....those were some wild times. This was a nice club song. It's not meant to be taken serious. Just good party music. I don't care too much for Jordan but this is a decent track.

***Floaters-Float On- This is a great song!!!!! I love it. Everytime it comes on the radio, I turn it up.I rememberas a child seeing them on SOUL TRAIN performing this song. The rap is kinda lame but the overall arrangements on this song is good. The background vocals are tight on this too. BTW, you'd be surprised at the men that greet women using their zodiac sign as the "ice breaker"(LOL)!!!!

***MC HAMMER-Too Legit To Quit...Hey I LIKE this song. MC HAMMER is not bad as people make him out to be. Hammer does some nice rhyming on this and the video is tight with some top notch hip-hop dancing from Hammer and his dancers. I can see why he wanted to challenge MJ to a dance contest when this came out.

***Mo Money Mo Problems-Notorious B.I.G.,Puffy and Mase...Yes the sample of Diana Ross song was very obvious and somewhay shameful. But this is yet a another showcase for one of the greatest hip-hop lyricist(if not the greatest lyricist)to show his stuff. R.I.P. Christopher Wallace aka Notorious B.I.G.

***Adina Howard-Freak Like Me.....LIL MAN covered this song is concert a few times. This was also a big song during the 1995 Freaknik festival here in Atlanta. Adina is a beautiful sexy sista.....TRUE DAT!!!!!

You know,a few years ago,I saw The Floaters at a "Super Oldies" concert and they totally sucked.Because they only had that one hit to sing, they padded out their portion of the show with other people's songs(Luther Vandross' "Bad Boy/Having A Party" and Peabo Bryson's "Can You Stop The Rain?").At one point, they said "How do you like the band? Not bad for a bunch of White guys, huh?"Needless to say,ALOT of people went to the restroom when they were on...lol..

ANYTHING by Jamiroquai makes me go straight for the OFF button. Who the hell buys their (his) records? Every song sounds exactly the same as every other one - bland.

I don't have specifif songs I hate....just a few specific artists. My short list includes:

1) Keith Sweat----the WORST singer in history. IMO the man responsible for destroying R&B with his whiny songs.

2) Jodeci (Kaycee & Jojo, too)--more non singing artists

3) Babyface--brothas HATE this dude....makes the most sappy music. Get a set, bro!

4) MC Hammer---"don't hurt em Hammer!" is right. He hurt many an ear with his bogus, 2nd wackest ever raps.

5) Vanilla Ice--1st most wack rapper ever.

6) Mary J Blige---I don't hate her as a singer.....just when she does covers of other REAL singers. She's yet to make a good cover, all are pretty bad. Somebody with some sense needs to tell her to stop the madness. Mary singing Stevie? BWWWWAAAHHHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

7) Any of these "rock-rappers".....Limp Biz, Kid Rock, Linkin Park and any of these other wack rappers over boring rock riffs.....just plain ewwwww!!!!

"Material Girl" by Madonna - I generally like Madonna's music. I wouldn't put her at the top of my list, but she is good. For some reason, this particular song just drives me absolutely insane.

Hey I buy Jamiroquai Albums But I also have all the 12' vinyl undergroung versions of those "BLAND" songs. I'm not here to argue but defend my boy. There is another band you might find "Bland" that is GROOVE COLLECTIVE. If u don't like "J" then you will not like them either...just a warning for you! smile

I have friends who sample and add stuff to some songs for me so they sound even better for groovin at the club and he has a big following here on the East Coast(NY & NJ)

For the song that makes me puke would be Brian McKnights song that has that annoying "MAYBE I CAN SOUND LIKE PRINCE ON THIS TRACK"! It's so bad to me it hurts my ears!!! I don't even know the name of the song that's how many times I've clicked it off. One of my friends said to me "He sounds like Prince right?". I almost had the Big One right then and there.....I said "Don't you ever say those dark words ever again!" lol! smile

I like Brian w/ his chocolate fine ass, but that song(aaaaarrrrrggggg!!!)
