LACHEY IN RIFT WITH IN-LAWS

Friends of JESSICA SIMPSON and NICK LACHEY fear for the couple's marriage following reports of a rift between the former 98 DEGREES hunk and his wife's parents.

According to sources, Lachey is devastated his in-laws don't respect his career choices - and has subsequently become sick of trying to please them.

A friend tells gossip site THE SCOOP, "Nick is very upset right now. He feels like he is trying to have his own career and Jessica's parents give him no respect.

"They don't treat him well. The MTV cameras (for his reality show with Simpson NICK AND JESSICA: NEWLYWEDS) are going to go away soon and when they do, Nick wants a break."

However, the hunky singer's spokesman insists rumours of troubles between Lachey and his in-laws are "completely false".

Never understood what he saw in her in the first place. She's a fucking idiot. And if it's an act, that's even worse.


I hate stupid women. More than that, I hate women who pretend to be stupid to get men. Unfortunately, it seems to work. If I was him, I'd have killed her by now.

and another thing - - i've said many dumb things at the spur of the moment and, luckily for me, there was just no reporter or tape recorder around. we all say dumb things. most of us just don't have those things broadcast all over the place as though it were the ONLY thing we said.

I agree with Rockwilder .. Jessica is smart and impossibly cute.

To me she represents all that's good and wholesome about humanity-- and that's why I love her to death. That's where her charm comes from ... if I heard about her being catty or bitchy or drunk and slutty .. I'd be shocked.

She has the effect of making you think she's pure and untouched by the world's decadence. Plus, she's incredibly sexy while doing that. She made virginity and young marriage hot again. (Britney is trying to chase that.)

Jessica has charisma and once upon a time (think back to "I think i'm in love with you" and "Irrestible") she could sing. NOw, of course, she's lost her vocal control and needs coaching ... but dont' write her off just yet.


If you listen to the quick, clever remarks Jessica makes in live interviews and on stage, you'd realize she's pretty witty.

Not many people can give good interviews ... but watch Jessica ... on any show -- oprah, jay leno, letterman, the view -- the girl is clever. She's said over and over that she plays into the ditz role because it puts people at ease and she just likes to make people feel good -- and unfortunately she thinks it gets the boys.

Hopefully she's grow out of that.

From watching the show it appears that she and Nick are genuinely in love. Her parents do appear to always be around though ... and Jessica and Ashley are being given more media attention now than Nick .. so maybe her parents are dismissing him as a post-pop group dud.

But I doubt he'd leave Jessica because he's mad at her parents ... although if the inlaws are assholes it does make marriage hard...
