Artists Who Should have lived longer I know people always get to thinking "what kind of music would they have made if they'd lived longer" or imagine "imagine what they would've done if their lives weren't cut short" here's some of my picks
John Coltrane Jimi Hendrix Curtis Mayfield Charlie Parker Charles Mingus Marvin Gaye Frank Zappa Elvis (maybe ) feel free to submitt your list of people who deserve to die or whose careers would have been better if they'd died earlier , once again my picks Phill Colins Michael Bolton Kenny G Billy Joel Elton John Dr Dre (what an overrated asshole )

I think a lot about what Kurt Cobain's music would sound like today if he'd lived. I really do think he was an exceptionally gifted songwriter - one listen to a song like "Lithium" or "Pennyroyal Tea" is more than enough proof.

definitely Bob Marley and Otis Redding.

Looking at yourlist, I'd remove Curtis Mayfield, Frank Zappa, Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix, as most of these ledgends have tons of music that's still available for us to play. Yet it would be something to have Jimi still here as an elder, and wonder what he would think about Prince, Michael, Hip Hop and more.
I would liked to still have Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kurt Cobain, Minnie Ripperton, Phyllis Hyman, Bob Marley and Freddie Mercury around, the music world could'nt hold back that much talent. Jeux Sans Frontiers

I realize, and I hate all the stuff he's behind with the possible exception of Eminem, but even he's quite overrated. Give me a break, where's the genius in ripping off parliament samples and turning hip hop into a fake gangster poser show (The Chronic? Groundbreaking my ass see "ripping off parliament")

heehee....Moon was going to be my next post. But here's a quote from Pete Townshend in 1978- "To be really unpleasant about it, I'm kind of glad Keith is gone. He was a pain in the arse." i really hate to even say this..but Aaliyah....I really realized how much I liked her music AFTER she died and I knew I wouldn't get to hear anymore of her and Timbs collabos.
Plus she was just a beautiful young woman.

Plus she was just a beautiful young woman. I totally agree here. She died to young and had so much more potential for the future. She had a real gift.
