I can't be bothered with folks that wanna lean on the arrogance thing. This was a man who grew up idolizing Muhammad Ali--it's no mystery that he used Ali's tactics and bravado to help promte his record.Did it backfire?Maybe. But I honestly believe that a big part of T's "disappearance"from radio, was due to the fact that the second album was so far removed from the first--before he had a chance to firmly get a solid fan base.Let's face it,at the time (with only one album out) a lot of his "fans" were flavor of the month folks.

Hey Y'all

TTD/Sananda is one of my favorites, and surely under repected and appreciated. I don't relly think the Sgt Peppers comment matters much now. If you've heard him talk about it... he clearly regrets it. All of his albums are great from Hardline to Wildcard. I got my favorites... but I appreciate thm all.Quite a body of work. Thing is... has anybody gone to his site and downloaded the tracks off his new album Angels & Vampires?

I hate to say..so far...dissapointed...not so good sad

Just my opinon

Peace

Terence is a unique artist and a great singer. One should not hold a grudge over a person for eternity. He was young and dumb as all of us has been. Years ago he has made apology for the statements that he has made. Countless of interviews in the United States he has recanted and told people he was merely joking. The critics are just not willing to forgive a mistake made by a young man who was getting a huge amount of accolades. We have just as many artist today saying bold things and acting like they are "it" soley based upon their "looks" and not their talent! So if one wishes to throw stones, their are a whole lot of rappers and singers who want to be sex gods out there that should get them first. Anyway, I think a favorite cut from "symphony or damn" is turn the page. I think that song is hot and very innovative.

You make some very good points...about the whole Muhammad Ali style of promotion. Any arrogant comments he may have made at the beginning of his career are history....Everyone makes mistakes...the man has more than made up for them.

TTD changed his name to Sananda Maitreya for "spiritual reasons". I don’t get it at all, but I do get his music, and I still love him!!!
Hey, I saw that!

I like him a lot.

It seems his arrogance has hurt him a lot, as far as popularity goes. He, like Prince, tried to escape the whole pop star thing at the height of his popularity, by being weird and elusive. The difference is that Prince had many more fans to spare, and that he remains more accessable. Terence has always been a bit too literate for the masses.

Never got his name change. I'm sure he wasn't copying Prince, but it would be easy to see it that way, as he obviously has most certainly been influenced by Prince.

I like all his records. Wildcard might be my favorite, but I also think it has the most filler. Probably Hardline is my second favorite.

I got his debut and reckon it is solid. Anyone care to recommend a different album to me?

IMO all his albums are great, but my personal favourites are his latest 2 "Vibrator" and "Wildcard", they are brilliant worship

Well, I gotta to give it up for TTD. I agree with the others orgers about his ego blowing him out of the water of mainstream. I went on his website and I was impressed. Some songs I liked and some I didn't particularly care for. My alltime favorite cut by him was Sign Your Name.

However, I will say that he did an excellent job at the INXS Tribute Concert. He really gave INXS' songs live b/c he put some much feeling into the songs that it felt like they were his own. He is musically I a genius.
