Prince isn't a glam artist, but he did borrow that era's fashion sense for about 3 years from '82 to '84.

you need to have Kiss and Alice Cooper on there ahead of most of the ones you listed (who aren't glam artists). "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Sooner or later, every asshole gets one."

I didn't know there was a form of music that was considered glam, I always thought it was just a look. As far as Kiss and Alice Cooper, they appear more goth to me than glam. Prince was far from glam... it was more of a punkish look..

Andy Wood from Mother Love Bone!
In the mid-'90s, a few bands went through a glam phase, led by Dave Navarro: RHCP, R.E.M., Pumpkins. Then, it seemed like every band wore eyeliner for a few years. When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

Bowie T-Rex Roxy Music Alice Cooper The Sweet Slade Suzi Quatro The New York Dolls Gary Glitter Iggy Pop These acts were all considered "glam" for a period. There is an excellent book that you should check out titled "Glam" by Barney Hoskyns. There was also a movie about glam titled "Velvet Goldmine". The Purple Rain era was as glam as you could get. During his Dirty Mind period, he was basically a black Iggy Pop with a guitar. Prince also borrowed heavily from Adam Ant who was basically glam. Check out any of Adam's videos "Goody Two Shoes", "Stand And Deliver" and you'll see a blueprint of Prince's videos. "Goody Two Shoes" video has 2 women that has the Lisa & J.J look. Put that video next to "1999" and "Automatic" and you'll see P bit mighty hard of off Adam. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I think that, regardless of the artist, they're not truly glam until they work some gold or silver lamé into their wardrobe. When the sunlight strikes raindrops in the air, they act as a prism and form a rainbow. The rainbow is a division of white light into many beautiful colors. Regardless of the day, I'm glad you were born.

There is an excellent book that you should check out titled "Glam" by Barney Hoskyns. There was also a movie about glam titled "Velvet Goldmine". Thanks, I'm going to have to check the book and movie out. I don't where my head was at when I forgot to list David Bowie. Andy is a four letter word.

Don't forget about David Sylvian's old group, Japan. Before they became the synth-pop answers to Roxy Music, they were a Glam Rock/Disco group. But they came out in 1978 which meant it was too late to be Glam. Everybody was into Punk by then. Shame too, cuz they made some killer songs on their first album. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
