OMG she's wearing an "E" around her neck instead of her "M"

I think it's wrong of her to want to change her name because of her mother, that's mean.

I think the real reason she wants to change her name to Esther is because "Madonna" is a Catholic name and now she's jewish.

I swear if her next album goes under the name "Esther" then i'll be pissed.

The irony is when i went to the show she yelled out "You dont have to call me Esther" now according to this article she wont answer to any name but Esther. geez

I'd imagine getting the snip at 46 would be problematic, that's why.

forgive my ignorance, i've not really followed her closely for years. i can't really be arsed to look into this Kabballah fad nonsense she's into.

I know jewish people who aren't circumcized..... it's weird but there are

And out of all celebrities who follow this Kabbalah crap Madonna seems to be the only one committed to it wholeheartedly, enough to change her name. I don't think she finds it to be a fad. And if it helped teach her more about sexuality and not to flaunt it around like she used to then i find it's done her some benefit

they were refered to her by Esther her spritual name while she was on a spirtual trip. It's like her conformation name which is Veronica and often included as part of her full name. She never changed or plans on changing her name offically to Esther.

Most American Men of that era are circumsized all ready so it wouldn't be a problem
You CANNOT use the name of God, or religion, to justify acts of violence, to hurt, to hate, to discriminate- Madonna

Personally, I think eccentric celebrities convert to unconventional religions just to get attention, or as somewhat of a publicity ploy. not that they all don't believe in whatever they convert to, but in principle I have trouble taking these "spiritual rebirths" very seriously.

That being said I actually am somewhat fascinated by Kabbalah. It's beliefs are very abstract and unusual, recalling hinduism or buddhism somewhat. Certainly much more intriguing than any literalist, fundamentalist christian sect that some people we know have converted to rolleyes

lol All I can say is do your thing MADONNA. She changed pop culture, defined pop music, challenged religions and may very well change it or create her own. lol While many condem her (not on this site..I mean the media in general) she still has them talking about her every move. Also...Not because I'm a MADONNA fan, but she is one of the few people who I have the highest of respects for..she's actually setting out to do what she wants to do. Bono is the other. Whether or not she's 'being fake' as some try to put it...who knows? And who is anyone to judge her for trying to find her own spiritual path?

first it was the Taliban wanting Madonna to be stoned to death for corrupting Islamic Culture now this

Egyptian Parliament members have submitted an order to Government demanding that American singer Madonna be prohibited from entering Egyptian soil. Parliament members also included a number of other international singers on their list of people forbidden from entering Egypt and called on all their embassies abroad to not grant any of them visas into Egypt or be allowed to shoot any of their music videos on Egyptian soil.

The demand came after Madonna announced that she will celebrate the Jewish New Years in Israel and that she had converted to Judaism. On a similar note Arab Parliament member, Ahmad Al Taibi, in the Israeli Knesset turned down an invitation from Madonna to an event she held after she showed inconsideration for the sufferings of Palestinians, especially children, under the occupation of Israeli soldiers.

Ahmad had stressed that he wished the singer would try and learn from other international stars like Richard Gear and Julie Christie who came to the occupied lands and showed their support for the suffering of Palestinians.

from DrownedMadonna.com

Madonna has converted to a branch of Judaism. She is a foul if she though that she will be able to walk into countries following Islam. Everyone knows that there has been bad blood between Israel and Islamic countries.-This is unfortuanate but thats the way it is.

Anyway, i dont see why she has to have a ban put on her. What harm could she do in Egypt? I feel she has the right to go to any place she wants just like any other human being.

well apart from the fact that she's now a practitioner of the Jewish Kaballah, before that I'm sure there were plenty of things that would have gotten here banned. being a materialistic, American, female, sex-symbol businesswoman dosn't really jive with the fundamentalist Islamic thing, and that's before you even get to the Jew thing....

Kabbalah is the mystic source of Judaism. Ah, Madonna has finally seen through the fluff and puff of fame and fortune. I think big celebrities hunger for God, because when they have it all, they realize it's not enough.
