Is it just me? Or when an R. Kelly song comes on the radio, do you too think strange thoughts? To wit: I just heard "I Believe I Can Fly" and the only thing I could think was, "If by 'fly' you mean 'stick my tongue in a minor's ass and get away with it' - perhaps..." [Edited 9/24/04 10:27am]

Chappelle's Show "Pee On You" usually comes to mind.
Then I wake up. | |

R. Kelly disgusts me. Everyone harps on and on about MJ when there's ACTUALLY FUCKING PROOF against R. Kelly and he's still nominated for grammy's and gets radioplay.

I used to think it was media hype that made him out to be so strangely palatable to people. But, folks REALLY DO like him still. A few weeks ago, I was in a Wal-Mart and a family full of women (40-ish) and, presumably, their teenaged daughters drifted over to the music section. The women kept raving about how they wanted the R. Kelly album. Now, if ANY group ought to be opposed to Kelly's music and success, at this point, you'd think it'd be black mothers of teen daughters!!! I don't get it.

There are plenty of people whose music I enjoy but who I dislike as a human being, namely Rick James
