I never paid attention to Eminem even when i was starting high school and he was all the rage, i never watched his videos intentionally. Most of the time i seen his videos because they were always rammed down my throat.
I only intentionally watched him when he performed with Elton at the Grammys, mostly because i wanted to see Elton.

He's got my dick's attention. I'd like to stick it in his mouth so his mouth would be full and he couldn't talk all that shit. And the little blonde bitch doesn't have a dime of my money.

Eminem has a gay audience? i thought he was the biggest homophopic person in the music industry.
then again he performed with Elton John hmmmmm

You'd be surprised. Guns 'n' Roses, 50 Cent, and even Buju Banton have a sizeable gay following, and they're all known to be homophobic.

I actually like Eminem, and I think his videos are funny. As to the whole homophobic thing, hasn't he repeatedly said that his lyrics aren't always meant to be taken literally? Em's an unreliable narrator, that's his whole shtick.

Might I add that you assholes come across much more homophobic than he ever has by constantly deriding him as a stereotypical self-hating closet gay. You're accusing him of being gay to demean him....do I sense hypocrisy? confused

Um, once again, his lyrics are satiricial black humor. Sure it's a somewhat contrived "intended to offend" M.O., but the point is that he doesn't mean everything that he says and that's part of the point behind his personna. Anyway, I personally don't think the homophobia is that overwhelming nor is it that prominent at all anymore, I don't see any of you complaining about the more misogynistic or just plain violent things he says.

And yes you are a hypocrit, you all are. It's like the bullshit rumor that Hitler was Jewish, it's a subconscious rationalization of prejudice (Only a jew could do such horrible things to Jews). By making fun of Eminem for supposedly being gay, you're being just as homophobic as you think he is.

I'm still waiting on his Björk impersonation heheh, that should be fun.

I agree, he's getting boring and tired, but his last video was pretty
funny the first time I saw it.

It gets boring very quickly though once that's the only trick to get some
attention and sell some cd's.

And yes, I mean, what the hell is up with all that cross-dressing?

Yes....rolleyes The bisexual girl is trying to insult someone by calling them gay....But if you need to know, yes, I do think he's gay.

Eminem is kind of funny, in a 12-year old sort of way. And as far as his lyrics go: let's say they're not meant to be taken literally. I know that, you know that, but I ca name off the top of my head at least 20 or so guys that don't know that. They think he means the women bashing and gay bashing literally, and I can guarantee you they aren't the only Eminem fans that do.

I agree....fight fire with fire. If being gay is what he hates so much, then hit him where he lives. Most people that have a problem with it are in the closet themselves. If he doesn't want to be dragged out of the closet kicking and screaming, then he should keep his damned mouth shut. You just wait, some queen out there is going to out him and of course the world is not going to believe it. I just can't see a person having hatred for a group of people that haven't done anything to them unless they have those qualities themselves and can't deal with them. I can almost bet that some man out there has been with him.

I HAD to listen to "The Marshal Mathers LP" because I wanted to hear firsthand if it was as homophobic as everyone said it was. And you know what? It's not really a homophobic album. The few homophobic statements that are on there are sooo over the top that, along with the other over the top statements on the given track, you can't help but roll your eyes in disbelief. The customary "fag" commet is more like a schoolyard taunt. I'm not really defending him but I can't really condemn him with any conviction either.

The problem is, there are people who take it literally. People who see the words of Eminem and other artists as encouragement to hate gays and women. What he says may be meant in humour, but not everyone knows that.

Is it his fault that people misinterpret him? Especially since he's said in interviews and in his lyrics that his music IS misinterpretted.

Tell me honestly that calling him gay isn't a way to demean him. I think that that's more detrimental and reinforces stereotypes much worse than anything Eminem's said. When people who claim to hate prejudice make fun of a homophobic person by calling them a closetted gay is just hypocritical in my book, EVEN if you are gay or bisexual (doesn't make you immune to criticism, people are complicit with stereotypes and prejudices all the time).

Has anyone heard the song?

I heard it twice over the weekend. On the "pump it or dump it" vote, it was dumped by about 70% of the people who called. It's an attempt at a club song. The record is awful even by his standards. This is his "Too Legit". When I first heard Hammer's "Too Legit" I knew he was done. I get the same feeling here. It always takes one album before the bottom totally falls out, so this album will sell but not at the rate his last albums have. Hope you saved your money Em, cause the end is near son.

The song is definantly falling in2 the same pattern of his last hits...

i didnt dig that cliche "gues who's back"

or the little scream he does in and out of it.. the chorus

i hope his album is more hardcore than this...

No, it's not his fault that people misinterpret his lyrics. But considering the mentality of some of his fans, he should be more responsible. I personally who know people who have been bashed by Eminem fans who think he's enouraging homophobia. You can't tell me it doesn't happen.

Saying he's gay isn't meant to deman him in any way, believe me, nor am I saying it to make fun of him. It's the truth that a lot of overtly homophobic people are themselves struggling with their own homosexual feelings.

It is nice to see an artist that is as talented as he is popular. He's got mad rapping skills and mad hooks. The combination will keep him on top of the rap game for a while. Ironic that a white guy is doing all this for the rap/music industry. Genius! (and the fact that people hate him and he's controversial will keep him even more popular)
