Pac was a huge fan of P, in a documentary about pac, pac said he loved women like Prince loved women {{he laughed about it}} he said that he identified a lot with women because he was raised by women. He said he had a lot of feminine attributes because of that, but he said he was also as hard as ant N***a out there... eye guess he saw the same characteristics in P

I heard when Tupac was alive. Tupac wanted to do a remake to a Prince song I think it was for "When Doves Cry" but Prince rejected. I'm not sure if it's true or just a rumor.

If he prevented/was against Tupac recording "When Doves Cry", how in the hell did he let Ginuwine's version of "When Doves Cry" slip right past him??? That is one Prince song that never ever should have been touched, no one is ever going to be able to top it or make a version worth listening to. Ginuwine knew better mad
Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight

I do believe they collabo'd at some time, beacuse I read somewhere that Pac and P were fond of each other's work. Also, I believe Prince DID let him use "Doves" for "When Thugs Cry" and "Pop Life" (which he won't let ANYONE use for some reason) for "Pac's Life". Now, my 411 might be messed up, I don't have my sources and I'm HUNGOVER like a big bitch, so be easy.

they say the two greatest subjects in literature are love and death.

prince=love (theres a word to describe prince. and you know he is fond of the phsyical act as well)

tupac=death (his paranoid raps about his enemies trying to kill him are haunting, more so because he was actually murdered)

thats why there my 2 favorite artists in music. i don't listen to much rap anymore, but tupac was a poet.

p.s.

that picture is fuckin funny!!!!

"Pac's Life" was never released and only available on bootlegs, so Prince probably denied him permission to use that too.

Nope, yo 411 is anything but messed up. I heard those songs, I also hear Pac using "If I Was Yo Girlfriend" in one of his oh-so-many outtake songs. Not to mention his infamous use for The Time's song in his "All Eyes On Me" album.

He's probably the most somebody I know who used Prince's samples.

As far as his love for Prince,,well,,both are a pair of crazy ass geminis, so it takes one to FULLY dig another I guess lol

The documentary was called "Thug Angel" and it was about the life and death of 2Pac. They showed it on VH1 or MTV last year or 2 years ago. But I remember him saying this because I too watched it.

Yeah , but P wouldn't let him get clearance, so it wasn't released. I wonder what it is about that song. Elvis Costello wanted to cover it as well, but NOPE!

Actually Big Daddy Kane's song "Lover In You" on his 1991 Prince Of Darkness album does include the "Pop Life" loop and I have the "Lover In You" video on dvd. BDK was on a Warner Bros sub-label (Cold Chillin') which helped in those days, if you sampled artists on your home label's masters, no money had to exchange hands for use of the masters.

Got it on a bootleg:

Pac's life, everybody needs to chill
Pac's life, plater haters wanna see me killed
Pac's life, only real niggas stay on top
All these niggas be mad as shit
Cause they can't live like Pac

He got a ton of unreleased tracks with obvious samples, sounds like him and his boys spent a lot of time messing around in the studio... I also got a track which sounds like d'angelo Lady it's hook goes "Yooou caan't fade meeee, you can't fade meee"

PEACE!
Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...
