Marcus Miller - Suddenly Rick James Presents : Bobby M - Blow Love These 2 albums, cause they feature (Once Again) The Jamaica,NY Kats! BobbyM's album is interesting because, even though it says "Rick James presents", all the production and a lot of the writing and playing was done by the Kats : Lenny White, Bernard Wright, Marcus Miller, etc....The ballad , "A Little Song For You" was written by Bernard ... I am familiar with the following artist on your list: Glen Jones - We've Only Just Begun, Show Me, I've Been Searchin', Here I Go Again etc...this man has one of the best voice I've ever heard, I love Glen Jones. Mico Wave (not Micro Wave) used the voice box (can't think of the correct term) and was compared to Roger Troutman from Zapp. I think the song Misunderstood had something to do with Bootsy Collins. He has a popular song called "Instant Replay". I definitely know who Rick James is but, the Presents Bobby M - Blow is not ringing a bell. Maybe if I heard some of the songs they were known for or see pics of what they look like it may ring a bell [Edited 9/24/04 10:48am] Ohhh you keep saying stay the niiiiiiiiight
Just let me rock you 'til the morning liiiiiiight It's cold outside And much too late to driiiiiiiive You know I need you baby I'm so lost without your love Mariah Carey - Stay The Night

All are great albums but seem to have been forgotten over the years. Collage - Shine The Light .... Great band from Sacramento. Had 3 really solid albums. Romeo Where's Juliet was their biggest hit. Afterbach - Matinee ... Only release from the Brookens Brothers who are also from Sacramento. They were sign to their first deal by two of the white brothers from EWF. Robert Brookens would go on to write and produce hits for people hit Stephanie Mills and Jeffery Osbron (I'm Only Human) as well as tour with Stanley Clarke and George Duke. He is now musical director for Earth Wind and Fire's tours. The two cuts from this album that got play were Ladies of the 80's and It's You. Attitude - Pump The Nation... produced by the system's Mic Murphy and David Frank, the cut here was "We Got The Juice" Glen Jones - I Am Somebody.. Glens first album. This was actually an EP that had 5 or so songs on it. I remember paying 2.99 for it when it first came out! La Connection - Now Appearing ... One of the funkiest albums of the 80's! Group was produced by Larry Blackmon during the hey day of Cameo. The album sounds just like a Caemo album and doesn;t have a weak track on it. The fact someone hasn't sampled "Come Into My Heart" from this album just shows how little known this album is. That track is just SICK! Rick James Presents : Bobby M - Blow... Paligap seems to be up on this album. This was sort of an R&B/Jazz album (think Ronnie Laws). Great cuts all the way through. My fav was "How Do You Feel Tonight" I'll leave the rest for now and see if someone can school you on those. Rafael Cameron - Cameron All The Way Marcus Miller - Suddenly Xavier - Point of Pleasure Micro Wave - Misunderstood Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

My favorites on Marcus Miller's Suddenly are:
Much Too Much It's Just For You and the instrumental, "Could It Be You". Great, Melodic Bass on this track! Smokin!! " I've got six things on my mind --you're no longer one of them." - Paddy McAloon, Prefab Sprout

'Mico Wave' just happens to be playing keys for the 'Prince' tribute band "Purple Reign" at 'The Boardwalk' in Las Vegas! I met him a couple of weeks ago when I went to go see them. We talked about his song 'Instant Replay'. If anyone hasn't seen "Purple Reign", you gotta see them! These mutha' fucka's is bad!! They also do a Morris & Jerome bit! Oh yeah, I like "Collage"! Yea, "Funtown USA" was a jam for Cameron. The album I listed was the one with "Desires" not sure how many remember that. Cameron was from the Randy Muller (Brass Construction) camp. His albums always had that Skyy/BC vibe. He was one of my favs from the early 80s. Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

I remember "Misunderstood" by Micro Wave.
Rick James presents Bobby M. .... isn't that the one that remade Al Green's "Let's Stay Together"? I have the 45, I will have to pull it. I definately remember Xavier. I have their 45 of "Work That Sucker To Death". I definately remember Rafael Cameron. The album I have is called "Cameron's In Love"....I think, (I would have to pull it to be sure). That album has two jams....."Funtown USA" and "Boogie's Gonna Get You". Andy is a four letter word.
