Please help!!! Wedding song needed.

Please help. Getting married in December and my job was to find a song that we will have our first dance together, needless to say i'm struggling. I'm thinking of "Baby, i'm amazed" by wings or "woman" by john lennon. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Grandma's hands clapped in church on Sunday morning, Grandma's hands played the tamborine so well.

my best friend is going to walk down the aisle to earth wind & fire's "september", and she wants to be carried in by a group of dancers and she wants her man to be lowered by wires into a fog of dry ice. i can't say i truly "get it", but points for her chutzpah. lol

From the six weddings I have attended this year I have concluded that there must be only two choices... because these are the only two bloody songs I have heard.

These are

Al Green "Let's Stay Together" (was my choice for my own future wedding until I found out that the rest of the world had chosen this too)

Van Morrison "Have I Told You Lately" ill

There is a wildcard choice and that is "Young Hearts Run Free" although this completely threw me and I think the couple who chose it are probably mad.

Baby I'm amazed is a great choice!! Although I love the song woman, I think it would be slightly cheesy at a wedding, no offence.

Seconded. It's about being in love with someone with the consent of God himself. The whole message is very similiar to Prince's cuts like 1+1+1=3.

Hey TheChief, congratulations on your engagement!

If I were to tie the knot, I'd select these songs (songs that make me cry have stars next to them):

Amel Larrieux - Make Me Whole ("Infinite Possibilities" [2000]) star
Joan Armatrading - Always ("Hearts & Flowers" [1990])
Macy Gray - Speechless ("The Trouble With Being Myself" [2003])
Anastacia - I Dreamed You ("Freak of Nature" [2002]) star
Meshell Ndegeocello - Beautiful ("Bitter" [1999]) star
Billy Lawrence - Favorite One ("One Might Say" [1994])
Janet Jackson - Truly ("Damita Jo" [2004])
Christina Aguilera - Loving Me For Me ("Stripped" [2002]) star
Alana Davis - Easy To Love ("Fortune Cookies" [2001])
Mariah Carey - Yours ("Charmbracelet" [2003])

If you have trouble finding any of these songs, let me know.

If I were getting married my wedding song would have to be "Forever Came Today." (The J5s version.) Slow dancing is nice, if you like that, but I'd want to get down! dancing jig biggrin Besides, the lyrics are beautiful.

Forever Came Today
by Jackson 5

(Ever, forever, ever, and ever and ever)
(Ever, forever, ever, and ever and ever)

There you are standing there reaching out for me
Something warm in your eyes touched my heart
And all the love I never knew
I found in you

Suddenly, my world, my life was standing still
And you touched my hand I knew that we had laid a plain
For everlasting love
I'm forever dreaming of

At last, at last
My forever came today
When you walked into my life
(Made my lonely life a paradise)
(It came today, forever came today)

Ooh, look into my eyes and see how much I want you
Feel my touch, you know how much I need you
I may be young, but I'm old enough to know
Look at me, I will never let it go
Let this moment thrill me a lifetime
Make it last, make it last
Make it last forever

(Ever, forever) Make it last forever (ever and ever and ever)
(Ever, forever, ever , and ever and ever)

Darling, ooh, my darling make me yours
As I touch your face
Tell me love has led me (Led me)
To this place and your warm embrace

Thanks to you, thanks to you my search has ended
And I want the world to see how gently love has shined on me (Shined on me)
With everlasting love (Everlasting love)
That I been forever dreaming of

At last, at last
My forever came today
When you walked into my life (Walked, walked into my life)
(My my lonely life a paradise
(It came today, forever came today)
(It came today, forever came today)

Ooh, you give me love by the hour
Ooh, you're my precious little flower
Girl, you give me so much sweetness
Ooh, you give my life completeness
Make it last for more than just a day
Make it last for more than just an hour
Make it last forever

Oh, Congrats!

"Maybe I'm Amazed."

I used it in my wedding. It is THE NUMBER ONE wedding song out there, for a reason. The lyrics are just perfect for a wedding. It's sappy, and the song shows up in everything from car commercials to dog-training tv shows, but it is still the most romantic song in the world...

And I HATE people who type out the lyrics to a song, but I'm gonna do it. I even used a line from the song in my invitation: "My heart was wrapped up in clover the night I looked at you".

At Last:

At last my love has come along
my lonely days over
and life is like a song

Ooh At last
the skies above are blue
well my heart was wrapped up in clover
the night I looked at you

I found a dream
that I could speak to
a dream that I could call my own
I found a thrill
to press my cheek to
a thrill that I have never known

You smile
you smile
oh and then the spell was cast
and here we are in heaven
for you are mine at last

I found a dream
that I could speak to
a dream that I
could call my own
I found a thrill
to press my cheek to
a thrill that I have never known

You smile you smile
oh and then the spell was cast
and here we are in heaven
for you are mine at last

you let me violate you
you let me desecrate you
you let me penetrate you
you let me complicate you
help me
i broke apart my insides
help me
i've got no soul to sell
help me
the only thing that works for me
help me get away from myself

i wanna fuck you like an animal
i wanna feel you from the inside
i wanna fuck you like an animal
my whole existence is flawed
you get me closer to god

you can have my isolation
you can have the hate that it brings
you can have my absence of faith
you can have my everything
help me
tear down my reason
help me
it's your sex i can smell
help me
you make me perfect
help me become somebody else

i wanna fuck you like an animal
i wanna feel you from the inside
i wanna fuck you like an animal
my whole existence is flawed
you get me closer to god

all through every forest
above the trees
within my stomach
scraped off my knees
i drink the honey
inside your hive
you are the reason
i stay alive

I have always loved this

I Was Made To Love Her lyrics

I was born in Lil' Rock,
Had a childhood sweetheart,
We were always hand in hand.

I was hightop shoes and shirt tails,
Suzy was in pig tails,
I know I loved her even then.

You know my papa disapproved it,
My mama boohooed it,
But I told them time and time again,
"Don't you know I was made to love her,
Built a world all around her"
Yah! Hey, hey, hey.

She's been my inspiration,
Showed appreciation
For the love I gave her through the years.

Like a sweet magnolia tree
My love blossmed tenderly,
My life grew sweeter through the years.

I know that my baby loves me,
My baby needs me,
That's why we made it through the years.

I was made to love her,
Worship and adore her,
Hey, hey, hey.

All through thick and thin
Our love just won't end,
'Cause I love my baby, love my baby. Ah!

My baby loves me,
My baby needs me,
And I know I ain't going nowhere.

I was knee high to a chicken
When that love bug bit me,
I had the fever with each passing year.

Oh, even if the mountain tumbles,
If this whole world crumbles,
By her side I'll still be standing there. worship

'Cause I was made to love her,
I was made to live for her, yeah! worship

Ah, I was made to love her,
Built my world all around her, worship
Hey, hey, hey.

Oo baby, I was made to please her,
You know Stevie ain't gonna leave her, no,
Hey, hey, hey.

Oo wee baby, my baby loves me,
My baby needs me,
Hey, hey, hey.

OO my baby loves me....

biggrin

its a 4 way tie between prince's diamonds & pearls, the isley bros. voyage to atlantis, seal's touch, and lenny kravitz'-little girls eyes... but any of the three will bring tears to the groom and congregation when they hear the melodies and watch you walk the aisle...
