Lewis Taylor & UK Soul First off, Hi, i'm new.
I know a lot of people here love Soul/Nu Soul music. It is my opinion that Soul music from the UK is unfortunately ignored, or mistaken with new musical movements born in London, (i.e acid jazz, two step, jungle, yada yada). Lewis Taylor http://www.lewistaylor.net is one artist that has two albums out (one out in 95, second in 2000), and is overall really similar (vocally) to Marvin Gaye and Prince. Musically, he has been compared to Radiohead, Syd Barret, Prince, and the list goes on. I can truly feel a Prince influence, tho'. Same thing with artists like OMar or Ola Onambule, they're great Soul artists from the UK. Anyone digging 'em? "I know i'm a fool, and i set my hopes high" (c) Lewis Taylor | |
