Anyone have the new Tears For Fears disc yet?

If so, what do you think. It's gotten excellent reviews, and I'm thinking of picking it up this weekend along with Jill Scott's new one.

Wow! Thanks for the update. I wrote Tears for Fears off a while ago. I love that album with Break it Down on it. Too bad more people are not into them.

Yes, I did kinda skim through it the other day at Virgin. It's.....hmmm.....OK, but it's a radical shift from their New Wave phase. It sounds to me more like Rubber Soul-era Beatles. Especially on that new single of theirs.

I bought it and the Beatles come to mind but the album just makes me want to put on a Beatles record. The song Ladybird is amazing though. The rest doesn't come close to what Roland can do on his own.

I have it. It's growing on me. When i first heard it, i was not impressed at all.. It's really mellow. It's an (unsuccessful at times) marriage of "The Seeds Of Love" vs. The Beatles. You'll be listening to several songs swearing that they are long lost beatles outtakes or leftovers from the seeds of love album..... They performed a free concert at tower on sunset last week and they both look good... They really didn't seem too happy together, so if they come to your town, this may be your last chance to see them!!!!

and the reason why people have been having problems finding the album is because it was supposed to come out on Arista in February, but the label was going under, so they were distributionless for several months. It's now out on Universal and as far as I know it's not even out in their native UK yet. Strange!!!

I saw Roland orzabal performing as TfF live at the time of Raoul and the kings of Spain and it was amazing!!!! He didn't need Curt Smith at all....
Ofcourse the 2 of them are TfF, and in an interview I read they were cool beeing together again...
I don't hope it is like Simon & garfunkel whom are together for the $$$$ but can't stand each other....
But when Curt leaves again.... nop problem, we still have Roland Orabal!!!

That is precisely the reason they broke up! I thought "Elemental" and "Raoul & TKOS" were excellent albums... Elemental had an electronic feel to it and Raoul was a rockin' album.

It really seemed to me like they got back together because of the success of the cover version of Mad World (Gary jules) from last year.... Curt even sang it like Jules' version (which didn't make any of the TFF die hards happy).... On stage at their first Los Angeles performance in at least 10 years, the 2 of them were bickering like ex-lovers (though they are both straight!) Curt was performing the show and playing with his kids at the same time, who were standing to the left of the stage, and Roland was getting pissed! They are supposed to tour and i'll be curious to see if they play any Elemental or Raoul songs....
