Teddy did soooo much work back then! Even worked with New Kids on the block ("you got the flavor" and the rather good "Never let u go" which has a blackstreet vibe to it)

Wasn't Gene Griffen Teddy's uncle or something like that? U guys must find Basic Blacks self titled album.....u must remember "she's mine" or "nothin' but a party"?

I'm pretty sure he got paid...now if Damion got paid off of this album that would be wrong because the album was completed before he was added to the group (the album cover tells it all) They did have time to add Thank you's from Damion Hall and completely took out Timmy Gatling's Thank you's...there definitely had to be some hard feelings with Timmy leaving the group at the last minute. Damion more than likely got his money from live performances.

Damion "Crazy Legs" Hall released a solo CD entitled "Straight To The Point" in 1994...songs released were "Satisfy You" with Chante' Moore on shared vocals and the remake "A Song For You" (a duet with his brother Aaron Hall). Does he have chops like his brother, absolutely not, that is one gene that was not passed down to Damion (he's an ok singer, nothing to write home about). I do love the song "Satisfy You".

Teddy was big time, he owned the radio back then with all the hits, he was the hottest producer at the time for that music genre. I also have the New Kids On The Block CD (no shame here )

I Miss You was a good song and great marketing by his record label.....don't know if you're aware, but the song "I Miss You" has nothing to do with the video "I Miss You". The song is not about the love of his life dying while having their child and he is left to raise the child alone. People actually believe this fabricated story and all you have to do is listen to the lyrics. Once I pointed the lyrics out to people they were like "ohhh", they were so caught up in how he was singing "I Miss You" they totally missed what he was talking about in the song.

That NKOTB record.....I actually really dig "u got the flavor", even though it sounds nothing like a Teddy song..... sounded dated back in 1994 too.....plus unrelated to teddy, I really like "dirty dawg".....still corny lyrics, but song is funky!

Let's not forget "Piece of My Love". This was actually the best song on the album. I will never forget the rumor about this song. People swore they heard Aaron Hall say "dumb bitch" in the song. I have played this song a million times and it does not sound like he is saying that.

Anyone else remember this?

I do...that rumor was huge, Guy explained it but I can't recall all of the specific details, something about the mixing, editing process of the record, he made it very clear that he did not say "dumb bitch". I can't pick one favorite song off of this album, there are so many hits, it's hard to choose.

I know if you remember his production work for New Kids I know you have to remember his production on Boy George's R&B track "Don't Take My Mind On A Trip", this video was on Video Soul's countdown. He even produced the remix for Jane Child's "I Don't Wanna Fall In Love" and it was just as popular as the original cut produced by Jane. Jane received a whole new fan base and a R 'n B hit after Teddy remixed her song. I love both version equally, I remember seeing Jane on an interview and she was giving Teddy the highest praise, she loved it.

Got 12" remix of "don't take my mind on a trip".....slams alot harder then original.....and I got jane childs 12" too.....I love both versions 4 different reasons!

We could go on forever the amount of work teddy used to do.....

heck I love the work he did on hammers gangster 1994 album "the funky headhunter"!

Yes I knew he produced "Hi Five". I think he produced "The Kissing Game" too, I have to check my Cd credits to make sure.

Alot of people dogged out MC Hammer but that Funky Headhunter has some nice beats on it, I bet you any amount of money if they gave those beats to another artist, the music would have sold well
