i'm not sure if the versions of spanish joint and africa posted here are the same as I copped a couple of years ago, but i remember the versions i have sounded like they were recorded live, perhaps by a journalist, or maybe in some kind of pre-release promotional setting. at the beginning d'angelo is heard saying something like, 'this is a joint i wrote called spanish joint' and at the end you can hear someone else chime in with a question.
does this sound like the same versions passed around here?
