other cd's I'm really diggin' boy by u2 sounds and is incredible!
staring at the sea-the cure!man,I have listened to this stuff in ages and it's reallya fun cd! the unforgettable fire-u2-This is really something. It's so atmospheric and beautiful. No other album sounds like this."4th of july" is kickin' my ass! live from mars-ben harper-just a great cd person to person-average white band--sucha great live cd.I love live cd's! 1,2 to the bass-stanley clarke-this guys is the best bassist I've ever heard! This is such a clean sounding cd.Great chops. live-stanley clarke-this is from 76-77 and the sound is great and his popping is something to behold Lopsy Lu is like, damn!! heavy weather-weather report-the playing is impeccable.jaco has such a unique sound. school days-stanley clarke-classic,classic,classic!!It's really hard to believe that this was a hit album that people outside of jazz purchased.Matter of fact,I think it's really incredible that Stanley,Weather Report,Herbvie, and others had such commercial success.Man,radio sucks nowadays. What the hell happened???This music was the hip stuff in the '70's and it seems that listeners were very open-minded back then. It's shocking in light of today's commercial climate. man-child-herie hancock-funky as Hades!!I REALLY love the cover art, too.I reallyw ant a poster of this to frame. medulla-bjork-yes,I'm still finding this fascinating. She knew what she wanted and executed this to perfection! It's not perfect, but it is consistent.Kudos to Bjork! Lewis Taylor's First Joint: My first couple of listens, and I am hooked. He's got the goods. Madvillain, Madvillainy: MF Doom and Madlib team up for the album of the year. Madlib, Shades of Blue: Madlib re-interprets jewels from the Blue Note catalog and invents a classic. Me'Shell Ndegeocello, Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape: In time, this album, while I don't consider it Me'Shell's best, could be one of the best "concept" albums since Sign O' The Times. To name just a few. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

I know that "War" and "Joshua Tree" are the universally loved classics from the 80's, but I prefer the 2 you mentioned. "Boy" is so energetic and Joy Division-ish. A really solid debut. And "The Unforgettable Fire" is so moving. 2 of their best for sure. | |

If you're into soul music, LT is a good one to check out. If you're into hip-hop/ambient/nu-jazz, Madlib is essential. Madvillainy has arguably re-invented hip-hop, and hopefully folk will pay attention. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

A lot of people didn't like "Cookie", but I love it. Although I could do without the "Pocketbook" version featuring Missy Elliot and a bunch of other rappers on it.
