Britney Spears (news) sure is getting this bride thing down pat.


Nine months after a quickie Las Vegas wedding and annulment, the pop tart did it again, getting hitched to her dancer boyfriend, Kevin Federline, Saturday night.


Spears' publicist confirmed to E! that the pair got married in a small, family-only ceremony in the Los Angeles area.


According to broadcast and print reports, the nuptials were so hush-hush that relatives--including Britney's mom--didn't know until the last minute.


Earlier reports in the glossies suggested the duo was eyeing a mega-wedding (think 200 guests) in either Spears' home state of Louisiana or a posh, celeb-friendly spot in Los Angeles or Santa Barbara this fall; Star magazine said last week that invites had gone out for an Oct. 16 wedding. But the duo eschewed the glitz, instead swapping vows in a private residence in Studio City, California.


Britney's mom, Lynne, wasn't even in on Saturday's under-the-radar ceremony, according to Star. However, Ma Spears was one of 20 family members on hand, along with Britney's kid sister, Jamie Lynn.


The magazine says the five-minute ceremony took place at 7:30 p.m. at the "relatively modest" home of the guy who designed all the tuxes for Federline and his groomsmen. The tailor reportedly is the ex-husband of the wedding planning--apparently the couple was trying to keep things as secretive as possible.


Spears, 22, reportedly wore a strapless white gown by Monique L'Huillier, complete with veil and, as appropriate for a pop princess, a tiara. She carried a bouquet of pink and white roses, per Star, while her five bridesmaids and maid of honor wore burgundy dresses and carried red roses.


The newlyweds sealed the deal with platinum bands.


Their first dance was reportedly not to the strains of seemingly appropriate Brit hits like "Baby One More Time" or "Oops!...I Did It Again," but to Journey's "City by the Bay."


According to Star, the Oct. 16 event will now be reworked as a party for the newlyweds' friends.


The marriage was Spears' sorta-second. Her first ring exchange with hometown pal Jason Alexander (news), then 22, became official on Jan. 2, but fizzled fast. The union was deep-sixed just 55 hours after it began, on Jan. 5. Three months later, she was happily downing Red Bulls and puffing cigarettes with Federline, whom she had met four years earlier and who had once served as a backup dancer to another of her exes, Justin Timberlake (news).


This is also the first marriage for Federline, 26, who, while a stranger to matrimony, is no stranger to fatherhood. Federline has two children with former Moesha star Shar Jackson, including a son born in July--just a month after Spears and Federline announced their engagement.

This also sounds very sad to me. Apparently she is going to retire and that's the reason for the somewhat rushed "Greatest Hits" CD. Something tells me she will get her hearbroken. Hopefully once this ends, she'll relealize some guys are just out to use her. And not even for her body...but for her money and fame. Sick. I guess we all have to make our mistakes and grow up sometime.

When will it reach a point that the public realizes that the more this stuff gets attention the more ridiculous the stunts become.

i'm skeptical of his motives but, really, who cares. i hope it lasts and they prove everyone wrong. if she does go through with the retirement thing, i hope it brings her the comfort she desperately needs.

Let's see...Kevin cheats on Shar Jackson mother of his 2 year old daughter and unborn child. Shar finds out from friends and the tabloids by viewing pictures of Kevin and Britney. Shar mentions Kevin lied to her and said that he was filming a commercial in the states when he was really out of the country with Britney (God forbid Shar needed to reach him if something was wrong with their 2 year old or unborn child)...by this time, I'm pretty sure Britney knows about Shar, does she stop the relationship...No....does she care about stressing Shar out during her pregnancy...No...Let's see how long this one lasts. I'm just waiting for her to put Kevin on her payroll, Shar will get a great deal of money for child support. Britney travels all over the world on a regular and I'm pretty sure she is going to want her husband by her side. Britney has her two stepchildren to think of now. Those children come first and I think Britney is in for a rude awakening. Shar has already stated that she better get ready to babysit.

unfortunately, you're so right. i have fun with brit's music but she needs to figure out who she is...outside of the public eye. i don't care how "cool" you think it is, having tracksuits (AT YOUR WEDDING!!!) with pimp on his and mrs. federline on hers is just stupid. its funny if you do it as a joke...anywhere but at the wedding! and man, i hope she understands the importance of being a mother figure for these kids. though, he's not really a father figure so what does it matter? i must confess, her marrying such a trashy guy lowers my opinion of her. in the end, i only like her for the pop but this is certainly not reason to gain more respect from people.
