She was waiting in the wings to be the Janet of this generation. I can so see this girl blowing up bigger than Beyoncé. If she would've done the Matrix sequels and recorded more songs she would have been the "IT girl" right now. I am so sad that she is no longer on Earth. It hurts me every time I see one of her later videos from the "Aaliyah" album (especially "More Than A Woman").

I agree. She was one of the few modern R&B singers that I really liked, and that I thought didn't appear to be a "product" of the music industry. She had originality.

Looking at yourlist, I'd remove Curtis Mayfield, Frank Zappa, Marvin Gaye and Jimi Hendrix, as most of these ledgends have tons of music that's still available for us to play. Yet it would be something to have Jimi still here as an elder, and wonder what he would think about Prince, Michael, Hip Hop and more.

I would liked to still have Stevie Ray Vaughn, Kurt Cobain, Minnie Ripperton, Phyllis Hyman, Bob Marley and Freddie Mercury around, the music world could'nt hold back that much talent.

thumbs up!.
How could I forget the mistress of soul, Phyllis Hyman cry I still miss her. Even if I don't know the song, I recognize her voice.
