SIOUSXIE SIOUX/CREATURES/BANSHEES

Show your love for Siouxsie Sioux! Personally I am a Creatures Fan...more so that a banshees fan. But I do love her so! I am getting a chance to see her tonight and am SO excited. This will be my 5th time omfg ...rivaling Prince...6 times omfg I have seen her once with the banshees and the rest as The Creatures. I saw them in 89 adn it was one of the best shows I ever went to...the energy and the drumming were superb!

The 2 cuts that I used to like by her were Peepshow and Kiss Them For Me.

Twas my first! My BF LOVES them has all their stuff. He actually got into them during Superstition...which I thought was feeling ill except for the video and the song Kiss them for me.

i had such a crush on siouxsie sioux back in the day. i saw them in '86, '87, '92, & '95. i have never seen the creatures, but loved the early singles, wild thing, mad-eyed screamer, weathercade, right now. i sadly, must admit, i've sort of lost touch. i love all the banshees albums from kaleidoscope through tinderbox. the kiss in dreamhouse and hyena were on non-stop rotation in my house during the mid-to-late '80s.

have fun at the show

you know, i really love siouxie but i've never been a huge major fan of hers for some reason. i like her albums and i think she's gorgeous and really fascinating - just never "vibed" with her 100% for whatever reason. that said, i really dig the "peepshow" album (or is it "creepshow"?) and her greatest hits CD is perpetually in my portable CD wallet. nod

The current Creatures tour is great. Budgie's drumming is absolutely incredible. I saw them all three times they played in NYC this month. Including the Banshees, I've seen Siouxsie live maybe 12 times.

The Banshees b-side box set, 'Downside Up' is supposed to be released before the end of the year. It includes their rare EP 'The Thorn' for the first time on CD.

I'm sorta the opposite. She fits right along with the other stuff I listen to, I've just never really liked her.

Have you tried getting into the Creatures? Basically her and budgie the drummer. The basic idea was to go somewhere and theme an album based on where they were. The first one they went to the polynesian Islands...the second Spain, the thire...outerspace...and the fourth Japan. Each disk is a representation of their experiences. Mostly tribal stuff. Feast is REALLY tribal and was completely experimental for it's time....still is.

My BF likes Banshees more than I do...I like the Creatures as it's more pretty... smooth... tropical... otherworldly. Basically takes you places without leaving your home. It's hard for me to listen to the Banshees. Like you I had the GH with me and would listen to it all the time. Though I rarely ever put in an album. It's wierd. What's also strange is that I have shirts of her and used to have a HUGE poster and have seen her almost as many times a Prince, but she's not even in my top 5...maybe top 10. Even stranger...I completely seperate the creatures and Banshees as if I am talking about a different band entirely.

I highly recommend hearing Feast or Boomerang...definitely Boomerang!

The Thorn is the one with the orchestral-like arrangements, no? Like the This Mortal Coil string arrangements? I've heard about it but not actually heard them. Never been able to find it. That'd be awesome to have!
Change it one more time..

It is indeed performed with an orchestra. It's one of the best things they've ever done.
