stevie allegedly did drugs?!!? omfg

no, stevie does not, and has not drank or used drugs (narcotics that is, I'm sure he's taken advil or something wink ). That's why he didn't enjoy touring with the stones in the early seventies.

Someone else who doesn't do drugs but everyone seems to think does is Andre from Outkast. They have to have two separate touring buses because dre doesn't want alcohol or smoking on his.

Laura Nyro was on some stuff for a while. I think when she made this album she must have been on heroin. It's one of the most depressing things I've ever heard.
Change it one more time..

Um, tell me about it. rolleyes

I just saw him on Sunday night in Rotterdam and he was high as a kite. lol Obvious coke use and smoking hash onstage (which of course goes without saying since it IS Holland biggrin)

He would sometimes forget what the hell he was doing, and ended the show a la The Who, smashing up the drum kit and jumping all over his keyboards as the band played Purple Haze. falloff

We were laughing so hard, there were tears streaming down our faces, but I don't think that was the reaction he was going for.

fallofffallofffallofffallofffallofffallofffallofffallofffalloff

From what I've heard, it's worse...heroin. disbelief

Really? I really had no idea because I just went because a friend got an extra ticket. I mean, I have listened to his album a few times a long time ago, but I had no idea what he'd be like live.

Well, that explains a lot then. hmmm

I don't think there's any "possibly" about it. How else would you have put Stevie Wonder, the squarest man in rock history (which is not an insult), at the TOP of your list?

I think i was listening to Innervisions at the time. Stevie's amazing, listening to his imagination in his early to mid-seventies work, You'd think he'd done the odd blunt or two! (and that is a compliment)

Well he didn't. And personally I think people's tendencies to attribute any creativity, weirdness, or idiosyncracy to drugs is tiresome. I don't use them, and whatever you want to do with your life is fine, but I don't think drugs make you more creative or are a legitimate source of inspiration. I do admiit that many great artists have done them and they can trigger interesting ideas, but I think true creativity doesn't need them.

I think he mentioned smoking pot once, but he found it very scary.

Um, honest to god, from everything I've ever read on him, HE NEVER DID DRUGS. All his anti-drug songs were just that ANTI-drugs songs, not songs based on experience: Too High, Chemical Love, Bird of Beauty etc..

You could be right though, all I'm trying to say is that Stevie's creativity and imagination is in no part due to drugs

Absolutely. Drugs were never a part of his creativity other than as something he took a stand against.
