BJÖRK is MEDULLA What do you think about her ? about her last album ? I think it's "strange but true"... and very interrresting ! Les enfants qui mentent ne vont pas au paradis.

I dont have no Bjork knowledge except for "Big Time Sensuality" The album cover is terrible though i admit. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

i love her....but medulla is not worthy of her beautiful catalog.....its too ambitious and while i commend the effort the songs fail in their structure....
farts and breaths do not make a song.... Space for sale...

Medulla has grown on me with each listen. But SelmaSongs aside, it's her least essential purchase. I doubt I'll ever rate it more than ![]() ![]() .

I love it and I was fully expecting not to once I heard the announcement of no vocals.

it's very slowly growing on me, like a fungus. i bet this time next year, a lot of folks who aren't completely feeling this album (including myself) will be singing a happier tune about it. i find that bjork's albums are increasingly less about immediate gratification and more about adjusting your ears to adapt to what she's trying to do. just my opinion, though...

i freakin' love this record. there is only one song that i wasn't mad about when i first heard it (ancestors) but that one grew on me and now is one of my favorites on the cd. the melodies of the songs...and yes, there are coherent melodies (though i've heard others say the contrary)...are so intricate! using the two choirs to supply the "music" on several tracks was a brilliant idea! this is an extreme case of music as an artform...much is left up to interpretation and even the actual sounds (not only the lyrical content) can be pontificated upon. geez, did i just say "pontificated upon"...ok, ok, i'll leave that there even at the risk of sounding pretentious.
i love this cd...it is probably my favorite bjork cd, closely followed by homogenic.

I think Medulla is an album Bjork was simply born to make like no other artist. No other artist could accomplish such a work....she is a vocal and musical genius....and I'm loving this album more than I did Vespertine at first, which says a lot because I do now like most of that album a great deal.
In my opinion, Vespertine had a couple of so-so tracks...it was the FIRST time I experienced that with a Bjork album.....for me, there is only ONE track on Medulla that I sometimes skip and that is "Ancestors" and we all know why that is, I think. Medulla is not my favourite Bjork album (that honour still belongs to Debut for me) but it's definitely worthy of being among her best work. . [Edited 9/15/04 16:18pm]

The album immediately connected with me, except Ancestors and maybe Submarine.
But somehow the entire album sounds like ONE story and I listen to it quite often. It's kinda pastoral.

Doesn't come close to the breathtaking beautiful masterpiece that is Vespertine.

In the Medulla album my favorite song is the hypnotic "where is the line", but I can't listen "ancestor", it's too strange...
My favorite album is "homogenic", first time I heard it, it was "waouh... incredible" !!! Les enfants qui mentent ne vont pas au paradis.

SORRY nope. I have both of Mike's solo works....they're very interesting, but neither come close to sounding as polished and thought over as Medulla. stop trying to correct me, monkey!
