Terence Trent D'arby's Wildcard

I just got this and I must say this is a GREAT album. I have Hardline and some of Symphony or Damn, but I get mixed reports about Vibrator and Neither Fish Nor Flesh. Anyone else have an opinion ?

Vibrator is Excellent. Better than symphony. Fish is not very good. When did wildcard come out?

2001. It certainly beats the hell out of Invicible, and TRC too as far as I'm concerned

Agree with heckaslammin: Vibrator is excellent, one of my favourite albums of all time.

I love every track (except C.Y.F.M.L.A.Y.)

His voice is top-notch and his lyrics are original and interesting. He's also (at least on this album) an articulate romantic who expresses his thoughts and feelings in a moving (and poetic) way.

I particularly like

Vibrator
Holding On To You
Read My Lips ("...I'm not a player, I'm your dragon slayer...")
Undeniably
It's Been Said (simple idea but can relate to it).

Go grab it, you can find it for cheap if you look hard enough as well.

I have "Symphony or Damn" and "Vibrator" and enjoy them both. I used to have his first album on cassette but you know how that goes.....tape eaten up in the car. A word to the wise, once you get a CD player, NEVER, EVER buy cassettes.....they are good for recording ONLY.
Andy is a four letter word.

I agree that Vibrator is a brilliant album, it still blows me away every time I listen to it and I have listened to it a lot nod. Without a doubt it is one of my favourite albums ever, if not the favourite worship. Neither Fish Nor Flesh is a very good album as well nod. It is a shame that people didn't appreciate he was growing as an artist and not willing to make "Introducing The Hardline PT2", but an album that is less commercial, but more experimental.
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Opinions???? "WildCard" is one of my all-time FAVORITE cd's and "Vibrator" is as well. My favorite songs on WildCard are "ODivina", "What Shall I Do", "My Dark Places", "The Inner Scream," "Sweetness", "Be Willing", "Sayin' about You" etc.

And "Vibrator"??? That CD is crazy. "Holding On To You " is my favorite TTD/Sananda song and the musicianship on that cd is really outstanding. There are NO mixed signals about Vibrator, that cd is fucking great!!!!! Don't sleep on that cd.

Yes, it's an excellent cd. His voice is killer and the song arrangements are very good too.

Vibrator is probably my least favorite, though I like many of the songs.

I think the Hardline is still my favorite, but I like all his stuff. I just wish he hadn't gotten too out there for his second record and lost his place in pop music. Prince survived doing the same thing, but Prince was bigger and could afford to lose more fans.

I love half of Wild Card. I generally skip every other song on it (starting w/ Designated Fool), but there are, what, 18 songs? So I still think it's a great record. I do think it has some filler, though. Still, I love his voice, and I like his adventurous spirit. I like that he takes chances, though they can't all succeed.

I'll definitely buy Angels & Vampires (reminds me of Dan Brown!) when it comes out on cd.
