Jamiroquai's new CD 'Dynamite' is due on November 2

That looks like a CD cover created by a fan,but it's not half-bad,lol.The CD is titled 'Dynamite' and it will be released on Tuesday November 2 on S2/Sony.The tentative first single is "Black Devil Car" although this could change.Alot of rumors floating around, but it looks like a new Jamiroquai CD will finally come out this fall.

Even though I love his first three albums, and the is some great disco-funk on that last one I think, I really don't understand why I still find the guy himself the definition of twat!

I'm hoping this album will go back to being more organic.

first time I catched them on MTV (not yet knowing anything about em) I was really surprised and totally blown away by the first singles.. and still "Too young to die" and "Blow your mind" are hard to beat in my eyes. But they managed to scorch out so many great tunes along the way... Stillness in time.. Half the man... Virtual Insanity... Corner of the Earth... Picture Of My Life... no I won't start, so many songs I would rate 5 stars... can't decide, sorry biggrin

concerning albums I would say it's a tie between "Emergency" and "Funk Odyssey"

yeah, they have a special unique sound. it's just like all Beatles albums sound alike. oh, and every Rolling Stones album is essentially the same of course ...and James Brown sounds always like James Brown naturally... and don't forget Hendrix.... Stevie Wonder of course.... ahhh and P-Funk... EW&F... Bowie... Bob Dylan... Public Enemy... come to think of it actually every record ever released sounds the same. I'm gonna sell my damn collection and just keep one 45, that's enuff

now that's a real stupid comment! The artists that you have mentioned (except for maybe The Stones, they've been sounding the same for over 40 years) have made progression throughout their careers. To start off with their OWN sound! Jamiroquai stole a sound to begin with (a more danceable Stevie-wannabe) and stuck to that sound without taking it to other levels!
So now, after a career of 10 years or so, he'll be coming up with another album that will have no own identity, reviews will consist of only comparisons to better music by better artists!

I know, I know, I was just playing devils advocat, hehehe lol

I'm well aware that Jamiroquai are not exactly innovators and borrow heavily from others. but they play the music they enjoy the most, what's the bad thing? still it's more original than most dispoable soundalike crap you find on MTV or in any Pop or R&B Top 1000 these days

and they DID incorporate different styles every now and then in their albums, don't judge them by their singles alone

Have you even listened to Jamiroquai's albums?? The first two CDs consist mostly of experimental acid jazz/trance (with long, meandering jams),which is hardly the type of music that Stevie Wonder does.Their third album 'Traveling Without Moving' took them in a more mainstream direction,as did 'Synchronized'.But their last album 'A Funk Odyssey' was unlike anything they had done previously. They added many electronic elements to their sound, and a few tracks rocked harder than ever before ("Stop Don't Panic","Twenty Zero One").

Nothing wrong with playing the music you like to play the most. I am just saying that, to me, it got tired after the second album (I loved them when their first album came out, still think it's a good album!). Fuck radio & MTV.
About their incorporation of different styles in their music, it all sound very fabricated. They had the didgeridoo (sp.?) thing going on, then cam the sitar.....whatever was 'hip'! No, not for me! And add to that: Jay Kay is one of the most annoying persons of the british music-scene right now!

Jay Kay likes to imitate Stevie Wonder's singing! And yes, I have listened to their albums, but stopped buying them for obvious reasons.

NEWSFLASH: he can't help the way he sounds! He's not "imitating" anybody, that's just the way his voice sounds.Besides,is it really his fault that he has a soulful voice that some (misinformed) people mistake for Stevie Wonder?

True, like I said, I did like them in the beginning andhis stevie-voice didn't bother. Their whole sound grew old quickly!

One other thing..Jay Kay has really developed into a brilliant songwriter.I didn't realize this until i heard 'A Funk Odyssey'.There are some superb ballads there..."Picture Of My Life" and "Corner Of The Earth".Listen to those lyrics!

Love Jamiroquai, but not that excited about the new album.

What's this about Jay Kay being arrested? Has he been a bad boy? I haven't heard anything about that.

Anyway, I love "Travelling without moving" and "Lifetime".....great songs.....Oh! and that song "The Kids" lol

I guess he's been arrested for a lot of driving offenses. I don't know of anything else that he's been in trouble for, but then I just hear snippets here and there. I don't really keep up on his life. In fact, I just read yesterday on CNN's page that his license was revoked for a long time.

That makes two of us then. lol

Good. I dig Jamiroquai though I believe that they have produced diminishing returns since "TWM." Zender's departure has really hurt them but they make some of the most enjoyable albums of any act. It's gonna be a great fall.

I am looking foward to listening to the album. I dig some of their cuts because they have a disco and funk flava. They are not your typical pop group. So, I already know that MTV won't play their ass much . Of course, MtV has turned pretty shitty over the years.
