The story goes like this...in the mid-80s,when Janet was (briefly) married to James DeBarge,she supposedly had a baby but kept it a secret from the public.She wasn't ready to be a mother at that point,so she gave the baby to her older sister Rebbie to raise.This rumor has circulated for years,and in a 2001 Vibe interview/cover story,Janet was asked about it.At the time,it had just been revealed that Janet was actually married during the past ten years wihtout anyone knowing about it.The writer pointed out that,since Janet was less than forthcoming about her marriage to Rene,then how could fans believe her when she says that she never had a baby? But in 1984/85,wasn't Janet a regular cast member of the TV show "Fame"? Seems like it would have been difficult to "hide" a pregnancy when you're on a TV show.

I read a "blind item" in Right On! magazine years ago concerning a young recording artist who was either pregnant or had already given birth. At the time two singers came to mind Staci Lattislaw (sp?), and Janet. (Both were fairly young at the time, say, 16 or so.) Again, since this was a "blind item" nothing was confirmed.

I remember seeing Rebbie yearsssss ago and someone asked her about this. She said that SHE was pregnant and not janet and the rumor was started when ppl kept mistaken her for Janet.




I want to see pics of Papa Joe's love child.....the last pic I saw of her..she looked just like Janet.
