An album I slept on

Yeah, I know it's been out for almost 2 years, but I never really listened to the whole album before. I had really only heard the singles, which I thought were good. I had always liked her for being the only "blonde pop star" who could actually sing (Jessica CAN'T), but never really listened to any of her albums.

Damn, this is a good album. The first single was horrible (same as her first album), but the rest was pretty damn good. I even liked the interludes.

Now I'm actually looking forward to her next album (I heard her new song with Nelly, hate it, but she has a track record of releasing horrible songs that really don't represent the album as a whole).

I really don't care how she looks, but I'm hoping she'll clean up, so her album will get more attention than her image this time around. She has some real potentional staying power.

The song with Nelly is from on his album, that I think is coming out next week. Even if she does have an album coming out soon (which I'm not sure she does), I doubt they would put that on there. She recently also did a cover of "Car Wash" for "Shark's Tale", which I only heard on the radio once, in comparison to the ten or so time I've heard the Nelly song. I might want to check out the album too. The singles were kind of hit and miss with me. I hated the last two but really liked the first three, including "Dirty").

This album was nice, BUT contained way too much for her...it was overdone. I mean 20 trax? with interludes..but it was tracked all wrong..and it was a bit much 4 me from her at least... I wasnt the only 1 though. They have a review of her album just like mine on AMG.

Are you talking about this album?

If you are, then I'm in the same club as you! "Stripped" was a great album. I don't care what anyone says. F* her media image, the dissing, whatever. These are consistently enjoyable pop songs and the ballads on here are so rich. Her vocals are so beautiful. I wore out "Get Mine, Get Yours," and now my new favorite is "Loving Me For Me" (that song has personal significance for me). Scott Storch killed the production on that track.

Linda Perry blessed "Stripped" with some amazing songwriting. "Beautiful" is destined to become a classic song -- it has a timeless quality to it, from the lyrics to the vocals -- it's going to be one of those amateur night contestant songs. "Make Over" is a great guitar-driven ditty. "Fighter" is a great motivation song.

This is a great record to start anew with and look forward to the future. "Cruz" and "Soar" are excellent "movin' on" songs. "Underappreciated" has some significance with me. Whenever I travel I bring this album with me.

You also have some dance/club jams. Me and my friend are STILL jammin' to "Dirrty" and "Can't Hold Us Down"! Oh yeah, and "Infatuation" kills us. That one constantly goes on repeat.

"I'm OK" is an excellent father-done-hurt-me song. I love the opening, it sounds like an old home movie of a child playing and then it morphs into this jilted, tortured guitar melody ("she had to learn how to grow up living in a war that she called home"). There's something so beautiful yet haunting about this album.

Overall, great, solid album. I'm tempted to go out and buy the Stripped DVD because I enjoy the album so much.

i'm a fan of the album. i do agree that there is too much on it, though. I think trimming some of it could have made it stronger.
let me come over it's a beautiful day to play with you in the dark
