With a total rip-off of the Prince Survivor thread idea.....

Twelve 80's "classics" picked to live in an ORG thread together. One by one we the Orgers will eliminate them by our votes Survivor style until we crown the winner of 80's Song Survior. With literally 100's of songs to pick from , I tried to choose 12 that would spark some debate that cover a wide range of styles. That being said here are our contestants.

i think it's an essential '80s song, but it's kinda whiney and mid-tempo and not at all what i'd call representative of the energy of the era. and anyway, i like the song "private dancer" much better anyway, just cuz the video makes me giggle.

U2's With or Without You.

I respect them musicly as a group , but honestly that song always put me to sleep.

I'll pick Madonna "like a prayer".

...the 80s station here plays that song way too much and every time I hear it lately, I dislike it more and more

How does this work? I've never watched 'Survivor'. Am I supposed to pick one that no one else has picked yet? In that case I choose "Time After Time". Cyndi Lauper always got on my nerves a little.

that's a 3rd rate pop song, and the weakest of that group, IMHO... just edging Funkytown, which at least has a little quirkiness to it. Whitney's song is just product.
