TV Stars who recorded........

I was inspired to start this thread by someone elses Joey Lawrence "Blosom" thread.....who did you guys/girls like and what TV start that recorded music do you feel should have stayed in the music buisness.....

I thought Jasmin Guy from "A Different World" solo album was nice....."Just wanna hold hold you" was a beautiful slow jam at the time.....

also did anyone ever hear Countess Vaughns "The Parkers" I know she has a nice voice.....

I enjoyed Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time". I hated the silly "Put Your Mouth On Me". I also enjoyed parts of his "serious" attempt at an album called "Love's Alright". It's not the best album in the world but I saw talent that I didn't know Eddie had. I wish he would have kept it up and improved it.

Did you guys know that,in 1980,Todd Bridges of "Different Strokes" recorded an album produced by Maurice White (of EWF)? The album was set to be released on Arc/Columbia Records, but it never came out.Today it is still sitting in the vaults. Now,I'd be willing to bet that Todd is probably not a good singer (surprise, surprise),but since the album was produced by Maurice White,I'm kinda curious to hear it.

I really liked Debbie Allen's single, "Special Look." Rick Springfield's "Jessie's Girl" and "Human Touch" were nice too. I like a bunch of Brandy's stuff.

Oh! Cindy Herron of Envogue starred on a this show I used to watch called "Up and Coming."

I really love the 'Buffy The Vampire Slayer - Once More With Feeling' soundtrack recorded by the TV cast. They aren't singers and definitely shouldn't quit their day jobs, but the songs are great--in a cute, earnest, sometimes campy way. I guess it's more of a credit to producer Joss Whedon who wrote all the lyrics and music.

She's more of a film star than TV star, but I have Milla Jovovich's CD, 'The Divine Comedy'. It's actually not bad. She's got that whole Sarah MacLachlan-Tori Amos vibe going on.

Yes, I have my 45 of "Dear Michael" autographed by Kim Fields. Kim was in a gospel stage play earlier this year and the promoter of the play did not believe me when I said that Kim had a record out in 1984. I brought the 45 to work to prove her wrong and she did not think it was the same Kim Fields. Well, I burned it on CD so she could hear it on the computer at work and she recognized Kim's voice right away.

Kim was very embarrassed and flattered at the same time that someone had this record. The promoter had me to burn it on CD so she could play it on their last show of the tour and embarrass Kim when she came out. I am still wondering how that turned out.
